Role: Python Engineer

Location: Pune /Hyderabad / Chennai / Bangalore

Experience: 6–9 years

Notice Period: Immediate Joiners

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer (Python) to upgrade and integrate third-party Python packages across supported runtime versions. The role involves resolving packaging, dependency, compatibility, build, and automated test failures while ensuring stable and reliable package integration.

The ideal candidate will have strong Python development and debugging skills, along with hands-on experience in Python packaging, dependency management, open-source package integration, and CI/CD environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Upgrade third-party Python packages across supported Python runtime versions.
- Resolve dependency, API, import, packaging, compatibility, and automated test failures.
- Update package metadata and internal build configurations as required.
- Reconcile and maintain local patches during package upgrades.
- Diagnose and resolve CI/CD and presubmit build failures.
- Validate package upgrades through automated testing and compatibility checks.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation related to package upgrades, integrations, and issue resolutions.




- Analyze build logs and test results to identify and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure successful integration and maintenance of third-party and open-source packages.

Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in Python development and debugging.
- Solid knowledge of pip, PyPI, wheels, virtual environments, and Python packaging.
- Hands-on experience with pytest or equivalent Python testing frameworks.
- Experience in dependency resolution and version compatibility management.
- Strong knowledge of Git, Linux, scripting, CI/CD, and log analysis.
- Experience maintaining, upgrading, or integrating third-party and open-source Python packages.

Preferred Skills
- Experience with setuptools and Poetry.
- Knowledge of native and C-extension builds.
- Experience with Bazel build systems.
- Exposure to Copybara.
- Experience working with monorepositories (monorepos).
- Knowledge or experience in security remediation and vulnerability fixes.
