We are looking for an experienced Purchase Assistant with relevant experience in centrifugal pump, valve, mechanical seal, or heavy engineering manufacturing .

The candidate will be responsible for sourcing and procuring engineering materials, vendor development, quotation management, price negotiation, Purchase Order preparation, delivery follow-up, and coordination with Production, Stores, Quality, and Planning department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Source and procure materials required for centrifugal pump manufacturing .
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Obtain and compare quotations from vendors.
- Negotiate price, payment terms, quality, and delivery schedules .
- Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) .
- Follow up with vendors to ensure on-time delivery of materials.
- Coordinate with Production, Stores, Quality, and Planning departments for material requirements.
- Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid production delays.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with Stores for replenishment.
- Handle non-moving, excess, and slow-moving inventory .
- Maintain procurement records, vendor database, quotations, POs, and other purchase documentation.
- Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, cost, delivery, and service .
- Support internal and external audits by maintaining proper procurement documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable ISO requirements .

- CI, SG Iron & SS Castings
- Forgings
- Shafts, Sleeves & Impellers
- Bearings
- Mechanical Seals
- Gaskets
- Fasteners
- Electric Motors
- Valves, Pipes & Fittings
- SS, MS & Carbon Steel Raw Materials
- Other engineering and pump manufacturing components

REQUIRED SKILLS

- Strong vendor development and vendor management skills.
- Good negotiation skills for price, payment terms, and delivery.
- Good understanding of the complete procurement process .
- Valuable network of engineering and manufacturing vendors.
- Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Tally ERP, BUSY, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office .
- Knowledge of purchase documentation and ISO requirements .
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

PREFERRED CANDIDATE PROFILE

- Experience in centrifugal pump, valve, mechanical seal, or heavy engineering manufacturing will be preferred.
- Candidates with strong engineering vendor contacts will have an advantage.
- Candidates with relevant procurement experience in manufacturing industries are encouraged to apply.
