Position: Purchase Engineer

Qualification: Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical / Mechatronics

We are looking for an experienced Purchase Engineer to manage sourcing and procurement of raw materials, electronic components, mechanical components, and pneumatic hardware for robotics and dispensing machines. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the right quality, specifications, quantity, cost, and delivery timelines while supporting a reliable and uninterrupted supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

- Source mechanical components, electronic components, pneumatic hardware, and specialized parts.
- Study technical drawings, BOMs and technical datasheets (TDS) to ensure accurate procurement.
- Verify material specifications, quantities, revisions, and technical requirements before placing orders.
- Coordinate with Design, Production, Quality, Stores and Accounts teams for purchase requirements.
- Identify, evaluate and develop new vendors, particularly in the Pune industrial market and selected global suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms and delivery schedules with vendors.
- Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, lead time and credit terms.
- Identify alternative materials/components for cost reduction and value engineering without compromising quality or machine reliability.
- Maintain optimum inventory levels and support reduction of warehouse carrying costs.




- Coordinate with Production Planning to avoid material shortages and production delays.
- Monitor the inward quality process and ensure received materials match the ordered specifications.
- Coordinate with logistics partners, customs agents, freight forwarders and other service providers for timely procurement and delivery.
- Handle GST, customs duty and import/export documentation related to procurement.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of mechanical components and materials.
- Good understanding of technical drawings and BOM.
- Ability to read and understand technical datasheets (TDS).
- Robust vendor development and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of GST, customs duty and import/export documentation.
- Good analytical and cost-optimization skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

- 35 years of relevant experience in purchase/procurement, preferably in an engineering, automation, robotics, or machine manufacturing environment.
- Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Candidates with experience in technical procurement, vendor management, BOM-based purchasing and industrial components will be preferred.
- Willingness to visit vendors as required.
