Project Manager - Engineering & Design

We are looking for a Project Manager who can take overall ownership of multidisciplinary Engineering & Design delivery reviewing and monitoring Electrical, Civil, Structural, Mechanical and other engineering teams, coordinating construction and commissioning support, managing US client/EOR interfaces, and ensuring the complete project is delivered on time, within scope and to the required quality standards

Role Overview

- Lead and manage end-to-end Engineering & Design delivery for large-scale US Data Centre and Energy projects.
- Take overall responsibility for coordinating and monitoring all engineering disciplines and project deliverables.
- Manage projects involving multiple energy technologies, including Solar PV, BESS, Wind, Thermal, Hydro, Nuclear and other power-generation systems.
- Ensure all engineering activities are completed on time, within project scope, according to quality requirements and in compliance with applicable US standards.
- Act as the key interface between India-based engineering teams and US clients, EORs, consultants, EPC contractors and other project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end Engineering & Design delivery for large-scale US Data Centre and Energy projects.
- Take overall ownership of engineering scope, schedule, quality, resources and deliverables.
- Manage and monitor multidisciplinary teams including Electrical, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Power Systems, Protection & Control, SCADA, Geotechnical and other engineering disciplines.
- Review and monitor the work, progress and deliverables of all engineering teams.
- Ensure all engineering disciplines meet agreed project timelines, quality standards and technical requirements.
- Coordinate engineering activities across Solar PV, BESS, Wind, Thermal, Hydro, Nuclear and other power-generation projects.
- Coordinate interfaces between power generation, BESS, substations, transmission, grid interconnection and Data Centre infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain engineering execution plans, project schedules, milestones and deliverable trackers.
- Assign engineering resources and responsibilities across different disciplines.
- Monitor engineering workloads, productivity and resource requirements.
- Track all engineering deliverables against the overall project schedule.




- Review engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, studies and technical reports at a project coordination level.
- Ensure proper technical review, interdisciplinary coordination and QA/QC before deliverables are submitted to clients/EORs.
- Coordinate Electrical, Civil, Structural, Mechanical and other engineering disciplines to identify and resolve design conflicts and interfaces.
- Monitor design progress and proactively identify delays, bottlenecks, technical issues and resource constraints.
- Develop and implement recovery plans to ensure delayed deliverables are brought back on schedule.
- Coordinate with US clients, Engineers of Record (EORs), EPC contractors, engineering consultants, utilities, AHJs and vendors.
- Lead regular project review and engineering coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage RFIs, technical queries, client comments, design changes and engineering revisions.
- Ensure client comments and technical issues are addressed and closed within agreed timelines.
- Ensure engineering designs comply with applicable US codes, standards, utility requirements and client specifications.
- Coordinate with discipline leads to ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, ASCE, ACI, AISC, IBC, NESC and applicable local/AHJ requirements.
- Coordinate engineering support during procurement, construction and commissioning.
- Monitor and manage engineering responses to construction RFIs, site queries and technical issues.
- Ensure design changes during construction are properly reviewed, approved and incorporated into engineering deliverables.
- Coordinate with construction and commissioning teams to ensure engineering issues are resolved on time.
- Track all outstanding engineering and commissioning actions through to closure.
- Ensure the complete engineering package is delivered on time and according to project requirements.
- Identify and manage technical, schedule, resource,



quality and project delivery risks.
- Maintain project risk, issue, action and decision registers.
- Conduct regular progress reviews with Engineering Leads and Project Engineers.
- Mentor and manage Engineering Leads, Project Engineers and Design Engineers.
- Ensure clear accountability across all engineering disciplines.
- Prepare and present weekly/monthly project status reports and management updates.
- Monitor project milestones, engineering progress, resources and critical-path activities.
- Support engineering resource planning, forecasting and project budget monitoring.
- Manage scope changes and ensure additional requirements are properly identified and communicated.
- Identify opportunities for value engineering, design optimization and process improvement.
- Maintain proper engineering documentation, document control and revision management.
- Ensure effective coordination between India-based engineering teams and US-based project stakeholders.
- Attend and lead meetings with US teams during US business hours when required.
- Take overall accountability for engineering coordination, quality, timely delivery and successful completion of project deliverables.

Preferred

- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Civil / Mechanical / related Engineering discipline.
- Master's degree in Engineering or Project Management is an advantage.
- Senior Project Manager / Engineering Manager / Program Manager with strong experience in Energy, Power or EPC projects.
- Has managed large multidisciplinary engineering teams rather than only one engineering discipline.
- Can understand and coordinate Electrical + Civil + Structural + Mechanical + Power Systems work at a project-management level.
- Robust experience with international projects, preferably US projects.
- Can manage the complete process from Design → Engineering Review → Client Approval → Construction Support → Commissioning Support → Final Delivery.
- Strong enough technically to challenge, review and question engineering teams while allowing discipline experts to own detailed technical design.
- Strong client-facing and leadership capabilities.
