Position Overview The Project Engineer (Civil) - Airside shall report to the Package Manager-Airside and will be responsible for ensuring work-front availability, achieving agreed construction progress targets, identifying and escalating delays, constraints, resource shortages, and interface-related bottlenecks, and supporting timely delivery of airside works. The role involves progress monitoring, construction supervision, quality assurance, testing, commissioning, and handover of civil works associated with airside infrastructure, including runways, taxiways, aprons, shoulders, airside roads, drainage, and associated facilities.
The role involves reviewing GFC drawings and identifying site related discrepancies, review technical submissions, monitoring construction progress and quality, coordinating with contractors, consultants, vendors, operational teams and other stakeholders and ensuring that all airside civil works are executed in accordance with approved designs, drawings project specifications, safety requirements, airside operational constraints and applicable aviation standards. The role shall also ensure seamless interfacing between civil works, AGL systems, utilities, drainage networks, airport systems, and operational airside areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing GFC drawings, specifications, method statements, shop drawings, material submittals,
and technical submissions to ensure compliance with project requirements and identify constructability issues and site-related discrepancies.
- Ensure work-front availability and support achievement of agreed construction progress targets.
- Supervise and manage on-site construction activities for runways, taxiways, aprons, shoulders, airside roads, pavement works, grading, drainage, markings, and associated airside infrastructure.
- Monitor construction progress and proactively identify, escalate, and resolve delays, constraints, resource shortages, and interface issues.
- Ensure that all works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Coordinate effectively with contractors, consultants, and project management teams in office to facilitate smooth operations.
- Manage interfaces between civil works, airfield ground lighting (AGL), utilities, airside systems, and operational areas.
- Monitor project progress and support adherence to the project schedule.
- Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and compliance reviews to ensure standards are met.
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and statutory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support the resolution of site issues, technical queries, and design clarifications as they arise.
- Prepare progress reports, inspection records, and technical documentation to track project status.
- Assist in commissioning and handover activities to ensure successful project completion.
- Ensure compliance with ICAO, DGCA, project specifications, and applicable standards.
- Identify construction risks and coordinate corrective and mitigation measures to address potential issues.
- Participate in site inspections, technical meetings, and coordination workshops to facilitate collaboration.
- Monitor snagging, defect rectification, testing, and handover activities to ensure quality outcomes.
- Verify as-built drawings, material records, and project documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist the Package Manager in contractor management, technical reviews, and issue resolution.

- Strong skills in documentation and reporting, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Effective communication skills with a focus on stakeholder coordination and commercial documentation management.

Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in civil engineering from a recognized university.
- Overall 5-10 years of experience in construction supervision, infrastructure development or project engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in airport airside infrastructure works is essential.
- Experience in construction, supervision, testing commissioning of all works related to runways, taxiways, aprons, airside pavements, drainage system, and associated infrastructure.
- Experience of working with PMC, EPC contractors, consultants, vendors, airport operators, or client-side project teams.
- Experience in managing interfaces between civil works, AGL systems, utilities, and operational airside facilities.
- Knowledge of ICAO, DGCA, FAA, MoRTH, IRC, IS Codes, and applicable airport engineering standards.
