About Truvara

Truvara builds agentic products for trust professionals: the people responsible for security, risk, compliance, privacy, and governance. Our stance is straightforward. Agents do the work. Humans review it, and humans decide what becomes the record.

CASK is our first product. It is a local-first desktop workspace where trust teams keep policies, questionnaires, risk registers, and evidence together. An AI agent reads that workspace, drafts cited work, and proposes edits.

The role

We are hiring a Product Engineering Intern to help maintain and improve the CASK codebase.

You will work in a TypeScript and Rust desktop app: UI, product flows, and the native layer. This is a product-engineering internship, not a research or prompt-only role. You will ship real changes, write tests, and learn how a production desktop product is kept healthy.

We are AI-native. You will use an AI-powered coding tool every day, and you will be expected to understand what the agent did, not only accept its output.

What you’ll do

- Fix bugs, close small features, and keep tests passing
- Trace issues across the TypeScript UI and the Rust backend
- Open clean pull requests: focused diffs, a clear description, and verification notes
- Use Git as a daily tool (branches, reviews, rebases when needed)
- Work with AI coding tools: write a good brief, review generated code, and take responsibility for what lands
- Use CASK yourself (documents, grids,



agent review, export) so engineering decisions stay grounded in how people actually work

What we’re looking for

- 0–2 years of experience (internships, course projects, or personal work count)
- Solid Git: you can branch, commit, and open a reviewable PR without hand-holding
- AI-native: you have used an AI-powered coding tool (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, Windsurf, or similar) as part of how you write software
- Understanding of agentic engineering: how an AI agent uses tools, when to trust it, and when a human has to review
- Comfort in TypeScript, and willingness to read and change Rust
- Transparent written communication: you can explain what you changed and why

Nice to have

- Hands-on Rust (even small projects or course work)
- Open-source contributions (issues, PRs, docs). Volume matters less than that you have shipped in public
- Any exposure to desktop apps, React, or local-first software
- Interest in security, GRC, or compliance products (domain knowledge is not required)

How we hire

We will ask you to talk through a change you have made, from school, work, or open source, and how you used (or chose not to use) an AI tool on it. We care more about judgment and Git hygiene than years of title.
