Our PD Merchandisers don't just draw pretty sketches that live in a shared drive somewhere. Your design goes into a room with pattern makers, gets argued about with production, gets prototyped, gets fixed and a few months later, you see it on a store shelf. That part never gets old.
We're looking for someone with 3–5 years in the trenches of bag, backpack, luggage, or accessory design, someone who can sketch rapid, knows Illustrator/Photoshop/CAD, and (this is the part most designers skip) actually understands how the thing gets built. Materials, construction, manufacturing process - you get why a strap fails before it fails. Attention to detail is non-negotiable.
You've also got a good eye for where trends are headed and better, you know how to turn that instinct into something that actually sells,
not just something that looks good in a mood board.
You'll need to hold a room too, pitching ideas, pushing back when a shortcut compromises quality, and juggling multiple projects without dropping any of them. Sustainability principles and trends in bag design and manufacturing gets you brownie points.
What you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Industrial Design, or related field
- 3–5 years designing bags, backpacks, luggage, or fashion accessories
- Strong hand-sketching and technical drawing skills
- Fluency in Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD
- Real knowledge of construction, materials, and manufacturing
- Sharp communication and project management instincts
- Bonus: sustainability know-how
