We are seeking an experienced Procurement Engineer (OFC Specialist) to manage end-to-end sourcing, vendor management, and technical procurement of Optical Fiber Cables (OFC) and related passive network infrastructure.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between engineering requirements and supply chains. You will evaluate technical specifications, conduct commercial negotiations, manage supplier quality, and ensure the timely delivery of high-performing fiber optic materials to support large-scale telecom, FTTH, and enterprise network deployments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Sourcing & Vendor Management

- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for OFC materials, including Armored/Unarmored single-mode and multi-mode cables, microducts, fiber closures, patch cords, optical splitters, splice trays, and accessories.
- Review engineering Bills of Materials (BOMs), technical drawings, and specifications alongside project managers and network design teams.
- Build and maintain solid strategic relationships with leading global and regional fiber cable manufacturers and hardware distributors.

2. Tendering, Bidding & Commercial Negotiation

- Float Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and Requests for Quotations (RFQs) to shortlisted suppliers.
- Perform commercial and technical bid evaluations to select optimal vendors based on total cost of ownership (TCO), quality, compliance, and lead times.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, SLAs, warranty terms, and delivery schedules to achieve target cost savings.

3. Quality Control & Technical Compliance





- Ensure all procured OFC products comply with international standards (e.g., ITU-T G.652D, G.657A, IEC, IEEE, Telcordia) and client-specific parameters.
- Coordinate Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), material inspections, and third-party lab testing for fiber parameters (attenuation, geometry, tensile strength, environmental resistance).
- Resolve technical queries between suppliers and internal engineering teams during the procurement lifecycle.

4. Supply Chain, Logistics & Inventory Control

- Track Purchase Orders (POs) from issuance through delivery, collaborating with freight forwarders and logistics teams to prevent project delays.
- Monitor vendor performance metrics (on-time delivery, defect rates, SLA adherence) and conduct periodic supplier audits.
- Manage inventory buffers to safeguard projects against global raw material shortages (e.g., plastics, steel armor, glass preforms).
