We are looking for a Principal Architect to define and lead the architecture strategy for digital commerce platforms covering

Browse, Search, CMS, and Product Catalog capabilities. The architect will drive cloud-native modernization, scalable platform design, event-driven integration, and technical excellence across high-traffic customer-facing commerce applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and evolve architecture for Browse, Search, CMS, and Product Catalog platforms.
- Design cloud-native, API-first, microservices-based, and event-driven solutions.

- Lead current-state assessment, target architecture, modernization, migration, and technical roadmap.
- Design scalable Search architecture covering indexing, relevance, autocomplete, faceting, filtering, ranking, and high-volume queries.
- Architect Product Catalog solutions covering products, SKUs, categories, attributes, variants, ingestion, synchronization, and data quality.

- Design CMS and headless CMS integration, content delivery, caching, CDN, and publishing patterns.
- Define Browse capabilities including navigation, facets, filters, sorting, pagination, merchandising, API/BFF aggregation, and graceful degradation.
- Lead event-driven integration using Kafka or equivalent streaming technologies.

- Establish standards for APIs, events, data, security, observability, performance, and resilience.




- Mentor engineering teams and provide technical leadership across architecture and implementation.
- Drive improvements in latency, availability, scalability, catalog freshness, search reliability, and operational observability.

Required Skills
- 10+ years of experience in software/platform architecture and technical leadership.
- Solid expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud and cloud-native architecture.

- Strong knowledge of Microservices, API-first architecture, and event-driven systems.
- Experience with Browse, Search, CMS, and Product Catalog in digital commerce/retail environments.
- Strong Search experience with Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Solr, or equivalent.

- Experience with Kafka or other streaming/event platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker/containers, CI/CD, and cloud platforms.
- Experience with API Management, API Gateway, BFF, caching, CDN, and distributed systems.

- Knowledge of SRE, observability, security, scalability, resilience, and performance optimization.
- Proven experience architecting high-volume, high-availability customer-facing digital commerce platforms.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, mentoring, and technical leadership skills.

Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
