Staff Platform Engineer

Location : Bengaluru, India - Hybrid (3 days onsite)

Salary : 22-28 LPA

Shift : 11am - 8pm IST

Duration : 6-month contract-to-hire

Job Overview The Staff Platform Engineer will help drive enterprise-wide platform engineering initiatives focused on improving the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), developer productivity, and engineering efficiency. This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, partnering across engineering, product, architecture, and security teams to build scalable platform capabilities, modernize development frameworks, and advance AI-powered engineering practices.

Must-Have Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field.
- 7+ years of experience in platform engineering, software engineering, cloud engineering, DevOps, or similar disciplines.
- Solid hands-on coding experience with the ability to troubleshoot and solve complex engineering problems.
- Experience building platform products, shared services, developer tools, or enterprise engineering platforms.
- Strong understanding of SDLC optimization, CI/CD, automation, and modern software delivery practices.
- Python development experience.
- Experience working across multiple programming languages and technologies.
- Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and platform modernization initiatives.




- Experience leading technical initiatives and influencing engineering standards across teams.
- Exposure to AI-powered engineering tools and agentic AI workflows (GitHub Copilot or similar).

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with enterprise platform transformation or modernization efforts.
- Experience implementing AI-enabled development practices, AI agents, or autonomous workflows.
- Knowledge of SRE, observability, governance, and engineering metrics.
- Relevant cloud, DevOps, or software engineering certifications.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

- Design and enhance platform capabilities that improve software delivery and developer productivity across the enterprise.
- Drive SDLC improvements through automation, CI/CD enhancements, and self-service platform solutions.
- Lead platform modernization efforts, including framework migrations and engineering ecosystem improvements.
- Partner with engineering, product, architecture, and security teams to establish standards and best practices.
- Evaluate and implement AI-driven engineering capabilities, including agentic workflows and developer productivity tools.
- Contribute as a hands-on engineer, with work typically split between 60-70% backend and 30-40% frontend development.
- Support multiple projects simultaneously, both independently and collaboratively.
