Job Title: University Placement Officer

Department: Corporate Relations & Career Services

Reports To: Director Career Services / Dean of Student Affairs

Job Type: Full-time

Job Purpose The Placement Officer plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between academia and the corporate world. The primary responsibility is to establish solid relationships with industries, facilitate campus recruitment drives, and guide students in career planning, skill development, and successful job placement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Corporate Relations & Networking

- Actively build and maintain a robust network with HR professionals, industry leaders, and potential employers.
- Invite companies for campus placements, pooled drives, internships, and guest lectures.
- Organize industrial visits, corporate meets, and networking events to enhance university visibility.

2. Placement Operations & Execution

- End-to-end management of campus recruitment drives (pre-placement talks, written tests, group discussions, and interviews).
- Maintain an updated and verified database of students eligible for placements and internships.
- Coordinate with company recruiters to ensure a smooth hiring process and collect official selection feedback/offer letters.

3. Student Career Guidance & Training





- Collaborate with faculty and external trainers to organize pre-placement training (Resume building, Mock Interviews, Aptitude tests, Soft skills).
- Provide individual career counseling to help students align their skills with market demands.
- Address student grievances and queries regarding placement policies and processes.

4. Data Management & Reporting

- Maintain meticulous records of placed vs. unplaced students, average packages, and sector-wise recruitment trends.
- Prepare comprehensive annual placement reports for university management, accreditation bodies (like NAAC, NIRF, or AACSB), and marketing teams.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Percentage of eligible students successfully placed year-on-year.
- Number of new tier-1 companies brought in for campus hiring.
- Average and highest salary packages secured for students.
- Student satisfaction rating for career guidance and training initiatives.

Job Requirements & Qualifications CriteriaRequirementsEducationMaster’s degree in MBA (HR/Marketing), Public Relations, Mass Communication, or a related field.Experience3–5 years of experience in corporate HR, recruitment, or campus placements in a reputable higher education institution.SkillsStrong networking, negotiation, and public speaking skills. Excellent verbal and written communication.ToolsProficiency in MS Excel/Google Sheets (data management) and familiarity with Placement Automation Software/CRMs.
