Placement Officer Sourcing & Corporate Relations

About the Role
Compnay is looking for a proactive and execution-focused Associate - Placements to join our Career & Employability team in Mumbai.
The role will be responsible for sourcing relevant job opportunities for students, building relationships with HRs and recruiters, coordinating hiring processes, and supporting students throughout the placement process.
You will actively identify job openings across LinkedIn, Naukri, Indeed, company career pages, and other job platforms, connect with HRs and recruiters, understand their hiring requirements, and bring relevant opportunities to students.
The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, good knowledge of recruitment processes, excellent follow-up discipline, and the ability to manage multiple student and employer requirements simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
Job & Prospect Sourcing
- Actively source relevant job openings for students across LinkedIn, Naukri, Indeed, company career pages, recruitment platforms, and other job portals.
- Identify openings aligned with students' skills, courses, experience levels, locations, and career aspirations.
- Build and maintain a database of relevant companies, recruiters, HR professionals, and active job openings.
- Track new hiring requirements and identify recurring recruitment opportunities.
- Research companies and industries to identify potential hiring partners for BIA.
HR & Recruiter Outreach
- Connect with HR Managers, Talent Acquisition teams, recruiters, hiring managers, and company representatives through calls, email, LinkedIn, and other professional channels.
- Introduce and its student talent pool to prospective employers.
- Understand current and upcoming hiring requirements from companies.
- Share relevant candidate profiles and CVs based on employer requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with HRs and recruiters.
- Follow up consistently with companies regarding open positions, candidate shortlists, interviews, and selection status.
- Work towards developing a strong network of active hiring companies.
Placement Coordination
- Coordinate the complete placement process between students, teams, and employers.
- Share job opportunities with eligible students through the CEC portal and other approved channels.
- Collect and verify student applications for relevant positions.
- Coordinate candidate shortlisting with recruiters and internal teams.
- Schedule interviews, assessments, HR rounds, and other selection processes.
- Track interview attendance, candidate status, feedback, selections, and offer status.
- Follow up with both students and recruiters until the recruitment process is completed.
- Maintain accurate records of all ongoing and completed placement activities.
- Portal Management
- Manage and regularly update job opportunities, employer details, candidate applications, interview schedules, and placement status on the portal.
- Ensure all placement information is accurate and updated in a timely manner.
- Upload new job openings and ensure relevant students are notified.
- Maintain candidate application and selection records.
- Track the complete placement pipeline through the portal.
- Generate and maintain placement-related reports and MIS as required.
Student CV & Profile Management
- Coordinate with students to collect and update their latest CVs and professional profiles.
- Ensure student CVs are aligned with relevant job descriptions and industry requirements.
- Help students improve basic CV structure, formatting, keywords, and role-specific positioning.
- Maintain updated student CV databases.
- Map students to relevant job opportunities based on their skills, experience, course background, and career goals.
- Ensure students are placement-ready before being recommended to employers.
Student Placement Support
- Communicate relevant job opportunities to eligible students.
- Guide students on application processes, interview schedules, documentation, and employer requirements.
- Coordinate interview preparation requirements with relevant internal teams.
- Track student participation across placement drives and recruitment processes.
- Follow up with students regarding interview attendance, results, offers, and joining status.
- Maintain professional communication with students throughout the placement journey.
Employer & Placement Database
- Build and continuously expand BIA's database of companies, HR professionals, recruiters, hiring managers, job openings, and placement outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of employer interactions and hiring requirements.
- Track companies that regularly hire from BIA.
- Identify opportunities to develop long-term hiring relationships.
- Maintain a database of previous recruiters for future hiring requirements.
Reporting & MIS
- Maintain daily and weekly placement activity reports.
- Track metrics such as
- Jobs sourced
- Companies contacted
- HR/recruiter connections
- Active hiring requirements
- Candidates submitted
- Interviews scheduled
- Candidates shortlisted
- Offers received
- Students placed
- Joining status
- Share regular placement updates with the reporting manager.
- Maintain accurate placement records and documentation.
Key Skills Required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good understanding of recruitment and hiring processes.
- Experience using LinkedIn, Naukri, Indeed, and other job portals for sourcing opportunities.
- Ability to identify relevant job opportunities and match them with candidate profiles.
- Strong HR/recruiter outreach and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent follow-up and coordination abilities.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Comfortable handling multiple candidates, recruiters, and hiring processes simultaneously.
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel/Google Sheets.
- Comfortable working with CRM, ATS, placement portals, or other recruitment platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Target-oriented and proactive approach.

Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
- MBA/PGDM in HR, Sales, Marketing, or Business Management is an added advantage but not mandatory.
Key Performance Indicators The Associate - Placements will be expected to contribute towards measurable placement outcomes, including:
- Number of relevant job openings sourced.
