PhD Materials Scientist / Metallurgical Engineer – HIP & Capsule Fabrication

We are looking for a PhD-level Materials Scientist, Metallurgical Engineer, Materials Engineer, or related specialist with direct hands-on experience in Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP)

and, most importantly, hands-on HIP capsule/can preparation or fabrication

.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct hands-on experimental work involving Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) .

- Prepare and fabricate HIP capsules/cans , including powder filling, degassing/vacuum evacuation, sealing/welding, and related preparation.

- Optimize HIP parameters such as temperature, pressure, holding time, and processing cycles.
- Evaluate HIP effects on density, porosity, microstructure, and mechanical properties.

- Perform materials characterization and analyze experimental results.
- Support HIP process development and scale-up for manufacturing applications.

Required Qualifications

- PhD in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Ceramics, Powder Metallurgy, or a closely related field.
- Hands-on HIP experience is mandatory.





- Hands-on HIP capsule/can preparation or fabrication experience is mandatory.
- HIP experience gained during PhD research, Postdoc, National Laboratory, or Industrial R&D; is acceptable.

- Strong understanding of materials processing, metallurgy, powder metallurgy, or advanced materials.
- Must be willing to work full-time on-site in Lucknow, India .

IMPORTANT – Please Apply Only If You Have BOTH

1. Practical/experimental HIP experience
2. Practical HIP capsule/can preparation or fabrication experience

Candidates with only SPS, hot pressing, conventional sintering, HIP simulation/modelling, theoretical HIP knowledge, or materials characterization without hands-on HIP and capsule experience will not be considered .
