PhD Materials Scientist / Metallurgical Engineer – HIP & Capsule Fabrication

We are looking for a PhD-level Materials Scientist, Metallurgical Engineer, Materials Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Ceramic Engineer, Powder Metallurgy Specialist, or related professional with direct hands-on experience in Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP)

Critical Requirement

Candidates must have BOTH

:

- Hands-on practical HIP experience
- Hands-on HIP capsule/can preparation or fabrication experience

Both requirements are mandatory. We are specifically looking for someone who has personally worked with the practical preparation of HIP capsules/cans, not only someone who has theoretical knowledge of HIP or worked with HIP-processed samples.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct hands-on experimental work involving Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP).
- Prepare and fabricate HIP capsules/cans for HIP processing.
- Perform practical capsule preparation activities such as powder filling, vacuum evacuation/degassing, sealing, crimping and/or welding.
- Work directly with HIP equipment and processing systems.
- Optimize HIP parameters including temperature, pressure, holding time and processing cycles.
- Evaluate density, porosity, microstructure and mechanical properties after HIP processing.
- Perform materials characterization and analyze experimental results.
- Support HIP process development and advanced materials research.

Required Qualifications





- PhD in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Powder Metallurgy , or a closely related field.

- Hands-on HIP experience is mandatory.
- Hands-on HIP capsule/can preparation or fabrication experience is mandatory.
- Experience gained during PhD research, Postdoctoral research, National Laboratory research, University research, or Industrial R&D; is acceptable.
- Strong understanding of materials processing, metallurgy, powder metallurgy or advanced materials.
- Must be willing to work full-time on-site in Lucknow, India .

Not a Fit If Candidates whose experience is limited to the following will not be considered:

- SPS / Spark Plasma Sintering only
- Hot pressing only
- Conventional sintering
- HIP simulation or modeling only
- Theoretical HIP knowledge
- Materials characterization only
- Working with HIP-processed samples without hands-on HIP processing
- No practical HIP capsule/can preparation experience

What We Are Looking For The ideal candidate has personally participated in the complete or substantial part of the HIP preparation and processing workflow, including capsule/can preparation, powder filling, vacuum/degassing, sealing/welding and HIP processing .

Candidates must be able to demonstrate genuine practical experience with both HIP processing and HIP capsule/can fabrication
