RAUZ is looking for part-time engineers and graduates with backgrounds in Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, Engineering Geology, or closely related disciplines to support our growing work in geotechnical monitoring intelligence, environmental and geotechnical AI, engineering data analysis, and digital monitoring technologies.
This is a remote, internationally open position . Applicants may be based in any country, and fresh graduates are strongly encouraged to apply .
RAUZ focuses on transforming geotechnical, environmental, monitoring, survey and remote-sensing data into practical engineering intelligence. The role is particularly suitable for engineers who are interested in combining traditional geotechnical engineering knowledge with data analytics, artificial intelligence, monitoring technologies and digital engineering .
What You May Work On
Depending on your experience and interests, your work may include:
- Processing and reviewing geotechnical and environmental monitoring data
- Analysing data from inclinometers, piezometers, settlement monitoring systems, tiltmeters, crack meters, vibration sensors, GNSS, total stations and other monitoring instruments
- Performing data cleaning, validation, QA/QC and consistency checks
- Identifying abnormal readings, missing data, unexpected trends and possible instrumentation issues
- Preparing displacement, settlement, groundwater, deformation and other engineering trend analyses
- Supporting interpretation of monitoring data from a geotechnical engineering perspective
- Comparing monitoring behaviour with construction activities, excavation stages, groundwater conditions and other engineering factors
- Supporting the development of AI-assisted geotechnical and environmental data analysis workflows
- Assisting with engineering datasets used for AI model development, testing, validation and evaluation
- Organising and structuring technical data for machine learning, analytics and automated reporting applications
- Supporting automated generation of monitoring charts, tables, summaries and engineering reports
- Reviewing historical monitoring datasets and identifying patterns or engineering relationships
- Supporting development of monitoring dashboards, engineering analytics tools and digital monitoring workflows
- Assisting with InSAR and ground-movement data interpretation where relevant
- Combining satellite,
survey and ground instrumentation data for multi-source movement assessment
- Conducting technical research on geotechnical monitoring, environmental monitoring, remote sensing, AI and emerging engineering technologies
- Reviewing technical papers, industry guidance, monitoring specifications and engineering standards
- Supporting preparation of technical notes, methodologies, engineering guidance and knowledge-base materials
- Assisting senior engineers with monitoring strategy, instrumentation planning and trigger-level review
- Participating in internal technical discussions on geotechnical AI, monitoring intelligence and engineering data analytics
The exact scope can be adjusted according to each engineer’s academic background, experience and technical strengths. Who We Are Looking For
Applicants should be studying toward, or have completed, a degree in one of the following or a closely related field:
- Geotechnical Engineering
- Geological Engineering
- Engineering Geology
- Civil Engineering with a geotechnical focus
- Geology with relevant engineering applications
Fresh graduates and final-year students are welcome to apply. Previous full-time industry experience is not mandatory .
We are particularly interested in candidates who:
- Have a good understanding of soil mechanics, engineering geology or geotechnical engineering fundamentals
- Are interested in geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring
- Enjoy working with engineering data rather than only traditional design calculations
- Are curious about artificial intelligence, automation and digital engineering
- Can analyse engineering problems logically and explain their conclusions clearly
- Are comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- Are willing to learn new engineering software, analytical methods and monitoring technologies
- Have good written English for technical communication and documentation
Useful Skills — But Not Mandatory Experience with any of the following would be an advantage:
- Microsoft Excel
- Python
- MATLAB
- GIS / QGIS / ArcGIS
- SQL or database systems
- Power BI or other visualisation tools
- Geotechnical instrumentation
- Automated monitoring systems
- InSAR / remote sensing
- Data analytics
- Machine learning or artificial intelligence
- Statistical analysis
- Geotechnical numerical modelling
- Technical report writing
You do not need to have all of these skills. For graduate applicants, we are more interested in strong engineering fundamentals, analytical thinking, curiosity and willingness to learn .
