1. Job Summary
We are looking for a technically competent Mid-Level Passive Cabling Engineer to handle the planning, execution, installation, testing, commissioning, and documentation of structured cabling and passive network infrastructure projects. The candidate will be responsible for site execution, coordination with customers/OEMs/vendors, supervision of installation teams, quality control, testing, troubleshooting, and project documentation.
1. Key Responsibilities
A. Project Execution Execute structured/passive cabling projects as per approved drawings, BOQ, specifications, and project timelines.
Supervise installation of Copper and Fiber Optic cabling systems.
Coordinate installation of
Cat6/Cat6A structured cabling
Optical Fiber Cable (OFC)
Patch Panels
LIUs/Fiber Distribution Panels
Racks and cabinets
Faceplates and information outlets
Patch cords
Cable trays, raceways and cable management
Ensure proper cable routing, dressing, tagging and termination.
Monitor daily site progress and ensure timely completion of assigned activities.
B. Testing & Commissioning
Conduct testing of copper and fiber cabling systems.
Handle testing using appropriate tools such as:
Fluke DSX Cable Analyzer
OTDR
Optical Power Meter
Light Source
Fiber Visual Fault Locator
Review test results and ensure compliance with project specifications.
Identify and rectify cable faults, termination issues, attenuation and connectivity problems.
Prepare and maintain testing and commissioning reports.
C. Site Supervision
Supervise technicians and installation teams at project sites.
Allocate daily activities and monitor manpower productivity.
Ensure installation quality and adherence to safety requirements.
Coordinate with civil, electrical, IT and other project teams wherever required.
Conduct site inspections and identify execution issues.
D. Technical Documentation
Read and understand BOQ, technical specifications, SLDs, layouts and shop drawings.

Snag Lists
As-Built Drawings
Cable Schedule
Rack Layout
Fiber/Core Documentation
Handover Documentation
Maintain proper records of project materials and installed quantities.
E. Customer & Vendor Coordination
Coordinate with customer representatives, consultants, OEMs and subcontractors.
Attend site meetings and provide technical updates.
Resolve site-level technical issues in consultation with the Project Manager.
Coordinate with OEMs for product-related technical support and certifications.
1. Technical Skills Required
Good knowledge of Structured Cabling Systems. Knowledge of Cat6/Cat6A Copper Cabling.
Knowledge of Single Mode and Multimode Fiber Optic Cabling.
Knowledge of fiber splicing, termination and testing.
Understanding of rack installation and cable management.
Knowledge of patch panels, LIUs, ODFs and network outlets.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and layouts.
Knowledge of cable pathways,
trays and containment systems.
Understanding of labeling and cable identification standards.
Knowledge of basic LAN/network infrastructure will be an advantage.
Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
1. Qualification
Preferred Qualification: Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, IT, Networking, Telecommunications or related discipline.
Experience
3–6 years of relevant experience in structured cabling, passive networking, ELV or IT infrastructure projects.

BICSI
FOA
Fluke/Structured Cabling Testing Certification
OEM Structured Cabling Certification
Fiber Optic Splicing/Testing Certification

1. Role Requirement
The candidate should be capable of independently handling day-to-day passive cabling site activities, coordinating with the project team and customer, supervising technicians, resolving technical issues, and ensuring successful testing, commissioning and handover of structured cabling infrastructure.
