Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled MySQL Database Administrator with 6 to 7 years of experience in managing, monitoring, and optimizing MySQL database environments. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, replication, and troubleshooting production database issues.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain MySQL database servers.
- Monitor database performance and proactively identify bottlenecks.
- Perform database tuning, query optimization, and index management.
- Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies.
- Configure and administer MySQL Replication (Master-Slave/Master-Master).
- Manage database security, user roles, privileges, and access controls.
- Troubleshoot database issues and ensure maximum uptime and availability.
- Support application teams in database design and performance improvements.
- Perform capacity planning and database health checks.
- Automate routine DBA tasks using Shell/Python scripting.
- Document database architecture, processes, and operational procedures.

Required Skills

- Strong experience with MySQL 5.x/8.x administration.
- Hands-on expertise in replication,



partitioning, and clustering concepts.
- Experience with backup tools such as MySQL Enterprise Backup, Percona XtraBackup.
- Strong understanding of SQL, stored procedures, views, and triggers.
- Expertise in query tuning and performance optimization.
- Unix/Linux administration knowledge.
- Experience in database migration and upgrade activities.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Nagios, Grafana, Prometheus, or OEM equivalents.
- Familiarity with cloud databases (AWS RDS MySQL/Azure Database for MySQL) is preferred.

Preferred Skills

- Exposure to PostgreSQL or Oracle databases.
- Knowledge of DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Ansible.
- Experience with HA solutions, clustering, and disaster recovery planning.
- Scripting knowledge in Shell, Python, or Perl.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- MySQL Certification will be an added advantage.
