Role Description The Mobilizer will work on-site in Tiruvallur in a full-time capacity, engaging with local communities to support Sevalaya’s education, healthcare, rural development, and welfare programs. Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying and reaching out to target communities, conducting awareness sessions, coordinating field activities, and facilitating access to Sevalaya’s services. The role involves building and maintaining relationships with community members, local leaders, partner organisations, and volunteers to ensure effective program implementation.





The Mobilizer will collect basic field data and feedback, prepare simple reports, and share insights with the program team to improve outreach. This role requires regular field visits within the region and close collaboration with Sevalaya staff to plan and execute community-based initiatives.

Qualifications

- Strong community engagement and relationship-building abilities, with a genuine interest in social development.
- Effective communication skills in spoken and written languages relevant to Tiruvallur and surrounding areas (Tamil preferred; additional languages an advantage).
- Basic organisational and coordination skills to manage field activities, meetings, and awareness sessions.
- Ability to collect, record, and share easy data and observations from the field for reporting and program support.
- Comfort working on-site and traveling within local communities, including rural areas.
- Prior experience in NGO work, social work, or community outreach is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Minimum educational qualification of higher secondary or graduate level; a background in social work, humanities, or related fields is an advantage.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
