MEP & Utility Manager – Industrial Factory Project

Candidates from L&T;, Voltas MEP, or similar industrial projects will be preferred.

Experience

- 8–15 years of relevant experience in MEP, utilities, facilities, plant engineering, or infrastructure.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary MEP and utility systems.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of MEP and utility systems.
- Positive understanding of electrical distribution and mechanical utility systems.
- Project management and contractor management.
- Preventive/predictive maintenance.
- Energy management and cost optimization.
- Troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
- Knowledge of statutory and EHS requirements.
- Strong leadership and team-management skills.
- Good communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Excel, CMMS/BMS and other relevant engineering software.

1. MEP & Utility Operations

- Manage day-to-day operation of all MEP and utility systems.
- Ensure uninterrupted availability of critical utilities and services.
- Monitor equipment performance, operating parameters, energy consumption, and system efficiency.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Ensure timely breakdown response and root-cause analysis.
- Maintain equipment history, maintenance records, SOPs, and checklists.

2. Mechanical Utilities Responsible for operation and maintenance of:

- HVAC and air-conditioning systems
- Chillers, cooling towers, pumps and AHUs
- Compressed air systems and air dryers
- DG sets and associated mechanical systems
- Boilers / thermic fluid systems, where applicable
- Fire-fighting systems
- Water treatment and pumping systems
- STP / ETP / WTP systems




- Other plant and building utility equipment

3. Electrical Systems

- Manage HT/LT electrical distribution systems.
- Supervise transformers, HT/LT panels, MCCs, PCCs, UPS and battery systems.
- Monitor DG sets; synchronization and power backup systems.
- Ensure electrical safety, preventive maintenance, and statutory compliance.
- Monitor power quality and energy consumption.
- Coordinate with electrical contractors and utility service providers.

4. Plumbing & Building Services

- Manage domestic, process, chilled, drainage, and utility water systems.
- Ensure proper operation of plumbing and drainage networks.
- Manage building services including ventilation, lighting, lifts, fire alarm and other associated systems.
- Ensure preventive maintenance of critical building infrastructure.

6. Energy Management

- Monitor electricity, water, fuel, gas, compressed air, and other utility consumption.
- Develop energy-saving initiatives and efficiency improvement projects.
- Track utility KPIs and identify abnormal consumption.
- Implement energy conservation measures and reduce operating costs.
- Prepare monthly utility and energy performance reports.

. Reporting & KPI Management Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly utility/MEP performance reports.

Track KPIs such as:

- Equipment availability
- Breakdown frequency and MTBF
- MTTR
- Energy consumption
- Maintenance cost
- Utility cost per unit/area
- Preventive maintenance compliance
- Water consumption
- Power factor

Present performance and improvement plans to senior management.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
