About the Role

Rio Hospital for Women & Children, Madurai, is looking for an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician with strong clinical and emergency-handling skills to provide prompt, safe and effective medical care to patients presenting with acute and critical conditions.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess and manage patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
- Perform rapid triage, clinical assessment and stabilization of emergency cases.
- Handle medical, surgical, paediatric and obstetric emergencies as per hospital protocols.
- Initiate appropriate emergency treatment and coordinate with consultants and specialists.
- Manage airway, breathing and circulation emergencies and perform basic/advanced life-support procedures as trained.
- Identify critically ill patients and ensure timely escalation to ICU/PICU/NICU or relevant speciality.
- Monitor patients during the emergency stay and ensure proper documentation.
- Coordinate with nursing, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy and other clinical teams.
- Maintain accurate case sheets, treatment records and emergency documentation.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their attendants regarding treatment and further management.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection-control practices and patient-safety standards.




- Participate in emergency drills, clinical audits and quality-improvement initiatives.
- Provide appropriate handover to consultants and on-call teams during shift changes.

Eligibility
- MBBS from a recognized medical institution.
- MEM / Master in Emergency Medicine qualification.
- Minimum 2+ years of relevant Emergency Medicine experience.
- Valid medical registration with the appropriate medical council.
- Candidates with hospital-based emergency department experience will be preferred.
