About Mehta Tubes Limited

Mehta Tubes Limited is an established copper and copper-alloy tube manufacturer operating under the MEXFLOW®

brand. Our Umbergaon facility (Unit II) runs contemporary tube-making operations — melting, casting, extrusion, pilgering,

drawing, annealing, finning and finishing — serving HVAC, medical gas pipeline, plumbing and industrial applications.

We invest in current manufacturing technology and in the people who run it, and we manage our operations on

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

About the Role

You will lead mechanical maintenance for the entire Umbergaon plant — keeping extrusion, pilger, drawbench,

annealing, finning and finishing equipment and all utilities reliable, safe and available. This is a senior leadership role:

you set the maintenance strategy, run PM and predictive programmes, lead the team and contractors, control the maintenance budget, and drive down breakdowns through real reliability engineering. Ideal for an experienced maintenance manager who wants to own equipment reliability for a demanding metal-forming plant.

Key Responsibilities

- Own mechanical maintenance strategy — preventive, predictive and breakdown — for all plant machinery and

utilities.
- Lead the mechanical maintenance team, technicians and contractors; plan manpower and shift coverage.
- Maximise equipment availability and reliability; minimise downtime, MTTR and recurring failures.
- Drive PM programmes, condition monitoring and predictive maintenance across critical equipment.

- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on major/recurring breakdowns and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Plan and execute plant shutdowns, overhauls and major maintenance with minimal production impact.
- Manage critical spares strategy, inventory levels and vendor/AMC performance.
- Control the maintenance budget — spares, consumables, contracts and manpower cost.
- Support installation, commissioning, modification and reliability-improvement / expansion projects.
- Coordinate closely with Production, Tool Room, Electrical and Utilities.
- Track maintenance work orders, spares and history in Dynamics 365 Business Central; review maintenance MIS.
- Ensure safety, LOTO, statutory compliance and audits in all maintenance work.
