Manager of Engineering –

- Data Platform The Manager of Engineering (Data Platform) is responsible for leading the engineering teams that build, operate, and evolve The Standard's enterprise data platform capabilities. This role focuses on platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, data enablement services, governance tooling, platform reliability, and operational excellence that support data, analytics, and AI initiatives across the enterprise.

In this role, you will lead teams responsible for the core data platform ecosystem, including Azure Databricks, data ingestion services, streaming platforms, data governance capabilities, data access services, platform APIs, developer enablement tooling, and operational platform services. You will partner closely with Architecture, Product, Analytics, and Engineering teams to ensure the platform remains secure, scalable, reliable, and aligned with enterprise technology strategy.

You will be accountable for platform roadmaps, engineering delivery, operational support, governance standards, financial stewardship, and the continued modernization of enterprise data platform capabilities. Success in this role will be measured by platform adoption, reliability, engineering productivity, operational excellence, and the ability to enable data and analytics teams across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead engineering teams responsible for enterprise data platform capabilities, including Azure Databricks, data ingestion services, streaming platforms, governance tooling, platform automation, APIs, and cloud-native data services.
- Oversee delivery and operational excellence of enterprise data platform services, ensuring reliability, scalability, performance, security, and resilience.
- Develop and execute multi-year platform roadmaps aligned with enterprise technology strategy and business priorities.
- Drive adoption of platform engineering best practices, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, observability, automation, monitoring, and operational support models.
- Partner with Enterprise Architecture and Product teams to establish platform standards, integration patterns,



and reusable engineering capabilities.
- Ensure effective governance across platform services, including security, privacy, access management, metadata, lineage, and compliance controls.
- Lead modernization initiatives that improve platform scalability, increase platform adoption, reduce technical debt, enhance developer experience, and support AI-ready data platform capabilities.
- Establish support processes for incident management, capacity planning, disaster recovery, platform health monitoring, and continuous service improvement.
- Foster a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Coach and develop engineering talent while building leadership capability and succession strength within the organization.
- Drive adoption of enterprise platform capabilities through reusable services, self-service capabilities, engineering standards, and platform enablement practices.
- Manage platform financial stewardship, including cloud consumption, capacity planning, platform optimization, and cost management practices to ensure sustainable platform growth.
- Ability to work on ‑ site in Bengaluru, India is required. *

Mode of Working: This role follows a hybrid work model with a primary base in Bengaluru. On ‑ site presence is essential for key engagements, with flexibility for remote work based on business needs and team alignment. Skills And Background You’ll Need Education: B.Tech / B.E. in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or related discipline is required. (MIS specialization preferred).

Experience

- 10+ years of technology experience with at least 3 years leading engineering teams.
- Experience leading platform engineering, cloud engineering, data platform, infrastructure, or enterprise platform teams.
- Strong experience with Azure cloud services and Azure Databricks.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale data platforms, platform services, and cloud-native engineering environments.
- Strong understanding of platform operations, reliability engineering, observability, automation, and DevOps practices.
- Experience with streaming platforms, data integration technologies, APIs, and enterprise platform architectures.
- Experience implementing governance, security, compliance, and operational controls for enterprise platforms.




- Experience managing globally distributed engineering teams and complex stakeholder environments.
