Position Summary

We are looking for a Manager who works as a hands-on practitioner, not just a supervisor someone equally comfortable executing complex assignments personally and managing a team through them. The role reports directly to the Partner, with full ownership of assigned clients and engagements from planning through to final delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Engagement delivery

- Personally handle and finalize complex/high-value assignments across audit, direct & indirect tax, ROC, and secretarial compliance — not limited to reviewing others' work

- Take end-to-end ownership of assigned engagements: planning, execution, documentation, and closure within agreed timelines

- Step in to directly execute urgent or specialized tasks when required, rather than only delegating

Team management

- Plan, allocate, and supervise the work of articled assistants and junior staff across multiple engagements

- Review deliverables prepared by the team for technical accuracy and completeness before they reach the Partner

- Coach and upskill team members on technical matters and firm processes

Client management

- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients on day-to-day matters, escalating only what genuinely needs partner input

- Ensure timely, accurate compliance filings and communications, and proactively flag risks or delays





- Build and maintain client relationships that support retention and repeat engagements

Reporting to the Partner

- Report directly to the Partner with regular, structured updates on engagement status, risks, and team capacity

- Bring issues to the Partner's attention with context and a recommended course of action, not just the problem

- Take accountability for outcomes on assigned engagements — the Partner should be able to rely on the Manager's sign-off

Compliance & quality ownership

- Ensure all work under the Manager's charge complies with applicable statutory, regulatory, and firm quality standards

- Track statutory due dates across clients and ensure nothing is missed

- Maintain complete, audit-ready working papers and documentation

What We're Looking For

- Qualified CA Inter or equivalent with relevant post-qualification experience in a CA firm environment

- Demonstrated ability to personally execute technical work, not only review and delegate

- Solid working knowledge across audit & assurance, direct & indirect taxation, and ROC/secretarial compliance

- Proven track record of managing a team while maintaining hands-on involvement in deliverables

- High sense of ownership and reliability — able to work directly with a Partner with minimal oversight

- Strong communication skills for both client-facing and team-facing situations
