Manager Business Human Resources
Role Purpose The Manager Business Human Resources will be responsible for managing end-to-end HR operations for warehouse and business operations, with a strong focus on manpower planning, employee lifecycle management, statutory compliance, employee engagement, performance support, and vendor/contract workforce management. The role will partner closely with Operations to ensure workforce availability, productivity, employee satisfaction, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manpower Planning & Recruitment
- Drive manpower planning based on business and operational requirements.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for warehouse associates, supervisors, and shift in-charges.
- Lead bulk hiring drives during peak seasons and business expansions.
- Ensure timely onboarding, documentation, and deployment of new employees.
- Maintain manpower MIS, vacancy status, and attrition reports.
2. Employee Lifecycle Management
- Manage onboarding, induction, confirmation, transfers, and exit formalities.
- Monitor attendance, leave, shift rosters, absenteeism, and workforce deployment.
- Address employee grievances and support disciplinary processes.
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze attrition trends to identify corrective actions.
- Ensure effective communication and employee connect across warehouse locations.
3. Statutory Compliance
- Ensure adherence to applicable labour laws and statutory requirements, including ESIC, PF, Bonus, Minimum Wages, CLRA, and other applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with contractors and manpower vendors for statutory documentation and compliance.
- Maintain accurate and audit-ready employee and compliance records.
- Support internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of compliance observations.
4. Payroll & Attendance Management
- Validate attendance, overtime, leave, and incentive data before payroll processing.
- Coordinate with payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely salary processing.
- Ensure compliance with minimum wages and statutory deductions in payroll.
- Resolve payroll and attendance-related employee queries and discrepancies.
5. Employee Engagement & Welfare
- Drive employee engagement, welfare, and recognition initiatives.
- Organize town halls, employee connect sessions, festival celebrations, and other engagement activities.
- Establish an effective grievance redressal mechanism.
- Promote workplace discipline, positive employee relations, and a healthy work culture.
6. Performance & Productivity Support
- Partner with Operations to improve workforce productivity and efficiency.
- Support performance management and evaluation processes.
- Track absenteeism, attrition, manpower productivity, and workforce efficiency.
- Identify people-related challenges impacting operational performance and recommend corrective actions.
7. Vendor & Contractor Management
- Manage third-party manpower agencies and contractors.
- Monitor workforce deployment against approved manpower requirements.
- Ensure contractor compliance with statutory and contractual requirements.
- Validate vendor billing,
attendance, manpower deployment, and reconciliation.
- Review vendor performance and drive corrective actions where required.
8. HR MIS & Analytics
- Prepare and monitor HR dashboards and MIS covering manpower, attrition, absenteeism, hiring, payroll, and compliance.
- Analyze workforce trends and provide actionable insights to business stakeholders.
- Track key HR metrics and support data-driven decision-making.
- Present periodic HR performance reports to management. Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of warehouse/operations HR and workforce management.
- Excellent manpower planning and recruitment capabilities.
- Good understanding of labour laws and statutory compliance.
- Strong employee relations and grievance-handling skills.
- Vendor and contractor management experience.
- Robust analytical, MIS, and reporting skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume operational environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Preferred Experience & Qualification
- Qualification: MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent.
- Experience: 610 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in warehouse, logistics, supply chain, e-commerce, FMCG, retail, or other high-volume operations.
- Experience in managing blue-collar/contract workforce and multiple stakeholders will be preferred.
