1. ABOUT SAMASTA FOODS
Samasta Foods Pvt Ltd is a Jaipur-headquartered B2B food processing company and the manufacturing backbone of leading Indian and global brands. Built in India for India and the world, Samasta runs two product engines on one plant and one quality spine: Certified Organic commodities — pulses and dals, rice and ancient grains, millets, whole spices and herbs, oilseeds, seeds and superfoods — and Value Added foods — roasted makhana and snacks, protein bars and nutrition, ready-to-cook and functional foods, spice blends, flours, premixes and custom formulations.
- A 50,000 sq ft fully automated plant in Jaipur, scaled from a 5,000 sq ft manual operation in five years.
- BRCGS Grade A, FSSC 22000, US FDA, EU Organic, USDA Organic/NOP, NPOP, Kosher, GMP, Halal and SEDEX/SMETA — more than ten active certifications.
- A farmer network of 500+ certified farmers and FPOs, extended by an exclusive linkage covering 22,137 farmers, 69 collectives and 30,649 hectares across 13 Gujarat districts.
- 200+ proprietary recipes and a capability base spanning hermetic fumigation, drying, cryogenic grinding, steam sterilisation, protein-bar and enrobing lines, roasting and high-volume packaging.
This role is based at the Jaipur plant and contributes directly to that manufacturing spine.

3. JOB PURPOSE
Own finished-goods dispatch, transportation, delivery performance, documentation and freight cost for domestic and export business, and deliver on-time in-full performance to customers at controlled cost.
4. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan dispatches against customer orders, production readiness, incoming RM/PM position and commercial priority.
- Coordinate with Stores, Procurement, Sales, Production and QA to confirm dispatch readiness before vehicle placement.
- Verify quantity, SKU, batch, packaging, marking and documentation before release of every consignment.
- Manage transporter, CHA, freight forwarder and shipping-line relationships, rates and service levels.
- Manage inbound and outbound sample dispatches and their tracking.
- Track shipments and manage exceptions proactively,
before the customer discovers the delay.
- Maintain dispatch, freight, e-way bill, LR and proof-of-delivery records.
- Own export logistics documentation and its accuracy at first submission.
- Monitor freight cost, container and vehicle utilisation, and detention and demurrage exposure.
- Handle damages, shortages and transit claims to financial closure.
- Publish OTIF, freight and transporter performance MIS on a fixed weekly cycle.
- Drive freight cost reduction through route, mode, consolidation and rate negotiation.
5. CERTIFICATION, COMPLIANCE AND FOOD-SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own accuracy of export documentation — invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, phytosanitary certificate, organic transaction certificate, bill of lading and customer-specific documents.
- Coordinate APEDA, FSSAI export and destination-country requirements with the QA and Certification functions.
- Ensure vehicle and container inspection, hygiene and food-grade suitability is verified and recorded before loading.
- Maintain dispatch traceability such that any despatched lot can be reconstructed on demand.
6. KEY RESULT AREAS AND PERFORMANCE TARGETS
Performance is reviewed monthly against these targets and formally assessed at the end of probation, at six months and annually. Targets are reviewed and reset each financial year.

7. FIRST 90 DAYS
By Day 30
Map every lane, transporter, rate and document set in use. Establish the current OTIF, freight cost and documentation error baseline.
By Day 60
Renegotiate the top lanes and publish a transporter scorecard.
Close the documentation errors causing rework or detention.
By Day 90
Deliver ≥ 95% OTIF, a documented freight saving against the joining baseline, and a dispatch process where documentation is right the first time.
8. CANDIDATE PROFILE
- 5–10 years in logistics or dispatch within FMCG, food or manufacturing, with hands-on export exposure.
- Has personally handled export documentation and CHA/freight-forwarder coordination.
- Strong on freight negotiation and can evidence a cost reduction achieved.
- Comfortable with e-way bill, GST documentation, LC-linked document sets and incoterms.
- Data-disciplined — runs OTIF and freight as tracked numbers, not impressions.
- Calm and decisive under dispatch pressure; escalates early rather than absorbing risk silently.
9. SELECTION PROCESS AND ASSESSMENT
Case exercise on lane costing and a dispatch prioritisation conflict; a document-accuracy exercise on a live export document set; and a structured interview on exception handling and claims.
10. TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Work pattern: On-site at the Jaipur plant. Shift working, extended hours during peak production, audits and dispatch cycles as required.
- Probation: 6 months, confirmed on documented performance against the KRAs in this document.
- Notice period: As per Samasta's standard terms for the applicable grade.
- Medical fitness: Appointment is subject to a medical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner and annual re-certification, as required under Schedule 4 of the FSS (Licensing & Registration) Regulations for personnel working in a food-handling environment.
- Background verification: Offer is subject to satisfactory verification of identity, qualification, previous employment and reference checks.
- Confidentiality: The role involves access to recipes, specifications, supplier terms and customer data. A confidentiality undertaking is a condition of employment.
