Role Description This is a full-time, in office Laboratory Assistant role based in Bengaluru.

The Laboratory

Assistant will support day-to-day laboratory operations, including preparing materials, reagents, and equipment for practical sessions and experiments.

Responsibilities include setting up and calibrating laboratory equipment, assisting faculty and learners during lab activities, and ensuring proper documentation of experiments, samples, and results. The role involves maintaining cleanliness and safety in the lab, adhering to standard operating procedures, and monitoring inventory of supplies and consumables.

The Laboratory

Assistant will also help with basic data recording, quality checks, and coordination with technical staff for equipment maintenance, contributing to a safe, efficient, and learning-oriented laboratory workplace.

This job requires fcilitating hands-on learning experiences in science, technology, engineering,



and mathematics (STEM) fields. The selected candidate is expected to bridge theoretical knowledge from lectures with practical application, ensuring students can safely and effectively perform experiments.

Core Responsibilities

- Instruction & Supervision: Leading lab sessions, demonstrating experimental techniques, and guiding students through procedures.
- Safety Enforcement: Rigorously maintaining and enforcing safety protocols and regulations (e.g., WHMIS, chemical handling) to prevent accidents.
- Lab Preparation & Maintenance: Setting up equipment, preparing reagents or materials, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the lab is clean and ready.
- Grading & Evaluation: Assessing lab reports, quizzes, and assignments to provide constructive feedback.
- Curriculum Development: Collaborating with faculty to update lab manuals and develop new experiments that align with course goals.
- Inventory Management: Monitoring and ordering lab supplies, chemicals, and equipment.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Education: A Diploma/ Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Physics,Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Engineering).
- Experience:



Previous experience working in a laboratory setting and, often, experience teaching or tutoring at the college level.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and proficiency with specific laboratory equipment.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Organizational Skills: Attention to details, ability to manage time effectively, and handle multiple tasks.

Typical Day-to-Day Activities

- Preparing for the day's experiments by setting up apparatuses.
- Delivering pre-lab lectures to explain objectives, methods, and safety precautions.
