Role Description The Junior Sous Chef is a full time role based in Jaipur, for our upcoming 24 keys business hotel. With some flexibility for work from home when planning menus, costing, documentation, or training materials. This role supports the Sous Chef and Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating across all outlets and events.

The Junior Sous

Chef assists in supervising kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to hygiene and safety standards, and maintaining consistent quality and presentation of dishes.

Responsibilities include contributing to menu development, monitoring inventory and food costs, coordinating with procurement, and helping implement standard operating procedures. The role also involves training and mentoring junior team members, collaborating with front-of-house staff for smooth service, and supporting special promotions and brand-aligned culinary initiatives.

Qualifications

- Strong culinary skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation, with experience in midscale or upscale hotel or restaurant kitchens.
- Knowledge of kitchen operations,



including inventory control, portioning, food costing, and support for menu planning and implementation.
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards, with the ability to enforce compliance and maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment.
- Team leadership and collaboration abilities, including supervising junior staff, providing on-the-job training, and working closely with front-of-house teams.
- Time management and organizational skills to handle multiple orders, coordinate service during peak periods, and meet brand and guest expectations.
- Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in professional kitchens.
- Experience in hotel kitchens or branded hospitality environments is an advantage, especially with global or national hotel brands.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, with a focus on guest satisfaction and continuous improvement.
