We are looking for a Junior Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting and finance activities of our export business. The candidate should have good knowledge of basic accounting, GST, TDS, banking transactions and documentation. Exposure to export-related accounting will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day accounting entries for Sales, Purchases, Receipts, Payments, Expenses and Journal Vouchers
- Maintain accurate customer and supplier ledgers
- Perform Bank Reconciliation (BRS) regularly
- Maintain and reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Follow up and account for customer outstanding payments
- Record and reconcile export sales and export customer receipts
- Coordinate accounting of foreign currency transactions, bank charges and exchange differences
- Assist in tracking export payments and outstanding export receivables
- Maintain records relating to shipping bills, invoices and export documentation for accounting purposes
- Coordinate with the Export Documentation team for reconciliation of export transactions
- Assist with GST workings, GSTR reconciliation and return-related data
- Assist with TDS calculations, deductions and return-related information
- Reconcile GSTR-2B with purchase records
- Maintain proper accounting records for purchase and expense invoices
- Assist in preparation of monthly MIS and accounting reports
- Assist senior accountants in month-end and year-end closing
- Provide documents and information required for statutory audit, tax audit and internal audit
- Maintain proper filing and supporting documentation for all accounting transactions
- Coordinate with banks, customers, suppliers and internal departments wherever required
- Perform other accounting and finance-related activities assigned by the Accounts Manager
Skills & Requirements
- B.Com / M.Com or equivalent qualification
- 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in an export or manufacturing company
- Working knowledge of Tally Prime / ERP accounting software
- Good knowledge of MS Excel
- Basic understanding of GST and TDS
- Understanding of export accounting and foreign currency transactions preferred
- Good numerical and reconciliation skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to maintain proper documentation and meet deadlines
- Good communication and coordination skills
