Role Description The Jr.

Safety

Officer (Railway/Metro) is a full-time, in office role based in Bengaluru. This position supports project teams in implementing and monitoring safety procedures on railway and metro construction and operations sites, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and client requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting site safety inspections, participating in risk assessments, assisting in the development and updating of safety plans and method statements, and monitoring the use of personal protective equipment.

Officer will document and report incidents, near misses,



and unsafe conditions; support accident investigations; and help implement corrective and preventive actions. The role also involves coordinating safety briefings and toolbox talks, supporting safety training initiatives, maintaining safety records, and collaborating with engineering, construction, and security personnel to promote a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

- Strong foundations in Health & Safety and Occupational Health, with the ability to apply regulatory and organizational safety standards to railway/metro environments.
- Experience in Accident Investigation, including incident reporting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Knowledge of Security practices related to infrastructure sites, supporting safe access control and protection of personnel and assets.
- Experience delivering or supporting Safety Training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for multidisciplinary site teams.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in safety roles within railway, metro, or heavy infrastructure projects.
- Diploma or degree in engineering, occupational health and safety, or a related field; recognized safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) are an asset.
- Familiarity with local and international safety regulations, codes, and standards applicable to rail and metro projects.
- Strong observational, documentation, and report-writing skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
