Role Description This is a full-time, on-site JavaEE Software Engineer role based in Mumbai. The JavaEE Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performing enterprise applications that power the HummingBird talent platform.

Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing backend services and APIs, integrating with databases and external systems, and ensuring robust, reliable web services to support AI-driven features. The role involves collaborating with product managers, data and AI engineers,



and frontend developers to translate business requirements into technical solutions, as well as performing code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning. The engineer will also contribute to architectural decisions, maintain technical documentation, and help improve development processes and best practices.

Qualifications

- Strong proficiency in Java and Jakarta EE with experience building enterprise-grade applications
- Hands-on experience in software development, including object-oriented design, clean coding practices, and use of contemporary development tools
- Practical knowledge of databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) and experience designing schemas, writing queries, and optimizing data access
- Experience developing and consuming web services (REST/SOAP), including API design, security, and integration with external systems
- Familiarity with application servers, microservices architectures, and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is beneficial
- Understanding of cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP) and CI/CD pipelines is a plus
- Ability to write maintainable documentation, collaborate in cross-functional teams, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
