We are looking for an experienced Java Migration Expert to lead Java application migration and modernization initiatives across development, QA, and production environments. The ideal candidate should have solid expertise in Java modernization, version upgrades, cloud migration, application refactoring, and legacy application transformation .

The role requires close collaboration with architects, developers, DevOps, infrastructure, database, and security teams to ensure successful migration of applications to contemporary Java versions, frameworks, and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze existing Java applications, architecture, dependencies, and technical debt to define appropriate migration strategies.
- Lead Java application migration and modernization initiatives across development, QA, and production environments.
- Migrate legacy applications to modern Java versions, frameworks, and cloud platforms .
- Refactor and modernize applications to improve performance, scalability, security, and maintainability .
- Plan and execute Java version upgrades , including compatibility assessment and dependency updates.
- Migrate applications from on-premise/legacy environments to AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms .
- Assess application dependencies, interfaces, databases, and third-party components before migration.
- Identify and resolve compatibility, integration, performance, and configuration issues during migration.
- Develop migration plans covering scope, timelines, technical approach, testing, deployment, and rollback strategies .
- Work closely with developers, architects, DevOps, infrastructure, database, and security teams .




- Support modernization of monolithic applications into microservices or cloud-native architectures where applicable.
- Develop and maintain APIs, integrations, and application components required for migration.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, containerization, deployment automation, and cloud environments .
- Conduct functional, integration, performance, and post-migration validation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve migration and production issues .
- Monitor migrated applications and perform performance tuning and optimization .
- Maintain migration documentation, technical designs, runbooks, and deployment procedures .
- Provide technical guidance and mentor development teams on Java modernization and migration best practices .
- Identify opportunities for automation, cost optimization, and continuous improvement throughout the migration lifecycle.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Java application development and modernization .
- Expertise in Java version upgrades and legacy application migration .
- Strong understanding of Java frameworks, application architecture, dependencies, and technical debt .
- Experience migrating applications from on-premise/legacy environments to cloud platforms .
- Strong knowledge of AWS and/or Azure .
- Experience with microservices and cloud-native architectures .
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, integrations, and databases .




- Experience with CI/CD, containerization, and deployment automation .
- Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills.
- Experience working with development, DevOps, infrastructure, database, and security teams .
- Strong understanding of application testing and post-migration validation .
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills.

Good to Have
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes .
- Exposure to Spring Boot / Spring Cloud modernization.
- Experience with cloud migration tools and modernization frameworks.
- Knowledge of AWS/Azure DevOps and cloud-native services .
- Experience with large-scale enterprise Java migration projects .
- Relevant Java or cloud certifications.
