Position: International Business Development Manager – Export Markets (West Africa, Central Africa &

- Middle East)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced International Business Development Manager to lead export business development across West Africa, Central Africa, and the Middle East. The candidate will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, appointing and managing distributors, driving product registrations, identifying suitable agrochemical products for each market, and achieving sustainable sales growth.

The ideal candidate should possess robust knowledge of the Agrochemical export business , including regional market dynamics, regulatory requirements, product portfolio selection, pricing strategies, and commercial practices across West African, Central African, and Middle Eastern markets.

Key Responsibilities

1.

Business

Development

Develop and execute business expansion strategies across West Africa, Central Africa, and the Middle East.

Identify, appoint, and manage distributors, importers, and strategic business partners.

Develop new customers and strengthen relationships with existing distributors.

Identify new market opportunities and increase market penetration.

Achieve annual sales, market expansion, and profitability targets.

2.

Product Portfolio

Selection

Identify and recommend suitable agrochemical products for each market based on:

Market demand, Registration feasibility, Competitive landscape, Customer requirements, Product positioning and profitability

Recommend new product opportunities based on market intelligence and customer needs.

Work closely with Regulatory Affairs, R&D;, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams to develop market-specific product portfolios.





Evaluate product registration feasibility before market introduction.

- Product Registration

Possess strong knowledge of product registration requirements across West African, Central African, and Middle Eastern countries.

Coordinate product registration dossiers, regulatory documentation, and approvals with local regulatory authorities and consultants.

Ensure compliance with country-specific registration procedures, import regulations, and regulatory guidelines.

Monitor regulatory changes and maintain product registration timelines.

Export

Sales &

- Commercial Management

Develop and expand distributor, importer, and institutional customer networks.

Negotiate pricing, commercial agreements, annual business plans, and supply contracts.

Manage the complete export sales process from enquiry generation to order execution.

Monitor sales performance, inventory planning, payment collections, and distributor performance.

Ensure timely execution of export orders in coordination with internal teams.

- Pricing &
- Export Costing

Prepare competitive export pricing by considering:

Manufacturing cost, Freight and logistics costs, Import duties and taxes, Product registration expenses, Distributor margins, Local market competition and pricing

Develop country-specific pricing strategies to maximize profitability while maintaining market competitiveness.





Analyze competitor pricing and recommend commercial strategies for business growth.

Market

Intelligence

Monitor competitors, pricing trends, tender opportunities, regulatory developments, and market dynamics.

Conduct regular market analysis to identify new business opportunities and emerging product requirements.

Prepare quarterly business reviews, sales forecasts, market development plans, and competitor analysis reports.

Qualifications &

- Experience

Education

Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Sciences, Agribusiness.

MBA in International Business- Marketing is preferred.

Experience

Minimum 6–7 years of experience in International Business Development or Export Sales within the Agrochemical industry.

Mandatory experience handling West African, Central African, and/or Middle Eastern markets.

Proven experience in distributor development, product registration, export documentation, pricing strategy, and international business negotiations.

Strong understanding of agrochemical regulations, registration procedures, and market access requirements across Africa and the Middle East.

Experience in government, institutional, and private-sector business development will be an added advantage.

Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis.
