About the Role

BuildAmbit is looking for an Interior Design Trainer & Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead training delivery and content development for our Interior Design programs.

The role combines teaching, curriculum development, content creation, and industry expertise . The ideal candidate should have strong practical Interior Design experience and the ability to translate industry knowledge into engaging, structured, and job-oriented learning experiences.

Key ResponsibilitiesTraining & Delivery

- Deliver engaging and practical Interior Design training sessions through live classes, workshops, and masterclasses.
- Teach learners concepts across residential and commercial interior design , from design ideation to execution.
- Provide hands-on guidance on design projects, assignments, portfolios, and industry-oriented case studies.
- Mentor learners and provide constructive feedback on their design work.
- Conduct assessments, reviews, presentations, and project critiques.
- Support learners in developing industry-ready design and professional skills .

Content & Curriculum
- Develop and continuously improve Interior Design curriculum, modules, lesson plans, assignments, and projects .
- Create high-quality learning content including presentations, videos, exercises, case studies, and practical resources.
- Ensure content reflects current industry practices, design trends, materials, processes, and skilled workflows .
- Review and quality-check existing content to ensure accuracy, relevance, and consistency.
- Incorporate real-world projects and industry case studies into the learning experience.

Subject Matter Expertise
- Bring practical knowledge across space planning, furniture, materials, finishes, lighting, colour, detailing, and design processes .




- Guide learners on professional workflows, design documentation, and project execution.
- Stay updated with emerging trends, technologies, tools, and practices in Interior Design.
- Work with the Product, Content, and Learning teams to continuously improve the program.

Tools & Skills Strong proficiency in relevant Interior Design tools such as:

AutoCAD | SketchUp | 3ds Max | V-Ray | Enscape | Revit | Photoshop

Knowledge of additional design and visualization tools will be an advantage.

What We're Looking For

- 3 to 7 years of relevant Interior Design experience .
- Strong practical experience in residential and/or commercial Interior Design .
- Prior experience as a trainer, faculty member, mentor, or design professional is preferred.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating real-world Interior Design projects.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and teaching skills.
- Ability to simplify complex design concepts and explain them effectively.
- Strong understanding of industry expectations and employability skills.
- Passion for teaching, mentoring, and developing industry-ready designers.
- B.Des / B.Arch / Diploma in Interior Design or a relevant qualification preferred.

The Opportunity This is an opportunity to combine Interior Design expertise with teaching and content creation and play a key role in building BuildAmbit's Interior Design learning ecosystem.

You will work closely with the Learning, Content, Product, and Industry teams to create a practical, industry-aligned, and career-focused Interior Design program .
