Senior Instructional Designer (Manager)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Instructional Designer to lead the end-to-end instructional design and governance function. The role will be responsible for designing and delivering high-impact learning solutions, ensuring content quality, governance compliance, LMS compatibility, stakeholder alignment, and continuous improvement of learning programs. The incumbent will work closely with business stakeholders, operational leaders, and learning teams to deliver effective training solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design, development, and delivery of complex training programs for diverse learner groups.
- Drive end-to-end instructional design activities, including needs analysis, solution design, content development, deployment, and evaluation.
- Develop blended learning solutions incorporating eLearning, virtual learning, instructor-led training, and performance support tools.
- Ensure adherence to governance standards, content quality frameworks, accessibility requirements, and LMS compatibility.
- Oversee content review, maintenance, and version control processes.




- Partner with business leaders and stakeholders to align learning strategies with organizational objectives.
- Mentor junior instructional designers and support Train-the-Trainer initiatives.
- Manage multiple learning projects and ensure timely delivery against business requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation within learning solutions and instructional design methodologies.
- Measure training effectiveness through learner engagement, knowledge retention, behavioral change, operational performance metrics, and business impact.
- Ensure compliance with standards and regulatory requirements.
- Minimum 6+ years of relevant experience, with preference for candidates possessing 8-12+ years of experience.
- 5-6 years of experience in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Content Development, or related functions.
- Extensive experience in designing training programs for operational or contact center environments.

Preferred Qualifications

- Undergraduate or Graduate degree in any discipline.
- Experience within the Australian Energy or Utility sector.
- Experience implementing emerging learning technologies and creative training methodologies.
- Advanced skills in graphic design, video editing, and learning analytics.
