3+ years customer-facing implementation, systems, or cloud engineering not only ticket-queue support.
You can lead a discovery conversation, then execute the plan yourself.
Solid networking: DNS, NAT, firewalls, private vs public routes, VPC/VNet/subnets. You understand why outbound-only connectors matter.
Hands-on Linux: install and debug a service or container on a customer VM.
At least one cloud (AWS preferred): security groups, private subnets, access patterns.
Identity basics: SSO and group-based access (Entra ID, Google Workspace, or Okta).
Comfortable on a customer call, screen-sharing, and closing with a working connector plus a written recap.
Solid plus:
Twingate, Tailscale, Cloudfl are Access, Zscaler ZPA,
or another ZTNA / VPN-replacement product.
Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code.
Windows and macOS client troubleshooting; Intune or other MDM.
Docker in production; PowerShell, Bash, or Python for small automation.
ISO 27001 or similar control-mapping (access, remote work, segmentation).
This role is not pre-sales only, a 24/7 helpdesk, or follow a runbook and never talk to the customer. Discovery is part of the job. Keep scope honest: if discovery shows more work than the starter package, say so before implementation starts.
