About the Company
Emarat Maritime LLC is a leading ship-owning company with a strong presence in the maritime industry. We are seeking an experienced and hands-on HR professional to independently manage HR Operations, Payroll, Statutory Compliance, and Employee Administration for our Mumbai office.
Position Summary
We are looking for a highly experienced HR Operations, Payroll & Compliance Manager with a minimum of 7-12 years of relevant experience exclusively in HR Operations, Payroll Management, and Statutory Compliance. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of Indian labor laws, PF, ESIC, Insurance, Payroll Processing, and overall HR administration.
The role requires an independent professional capable of handling complete HR operations and compliance functions while ensuring adherence to all statutory and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations
- Manage end-to-end HR operations and employee lifecycle administration.
- Maintain employee records, personnel files, HR documentation, and HR databases.
- Oversee attendance management, leave administration, employee data management, and HR audits.
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and standard operating procedures.
- Handle employee queries related to HR policies, compensation, benefits, and employment matters.
- Ensure smooth execution of HR processes and maintain high service standards.
Payroll Management
- Independently manage monthly payroll processing with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Review attendance records, leave balances, overtime, salary revisions, reimbursements,
and payroll inputs.
- Coordinate salary disbursements and payroll reporting.
- Manage full and final settlements for employees.
- Prepare payroll reports, MIS, and management dashboards.
- Ensure timely statutory filings and payroll reconciliations
Statutory Compliance
- Ensure complete compliance with all applicable labor laws and employment regulations.
Handle:
- Provident Fund (PF)
- Employee State Insurance (ESIC)
- Professional Tax
- Labour Welfare Fund
- Gratuity
- Bonus Administration
- Shops & Establishment Compliance
- Income Tax related payroll compliance
- Coordinate statutory inspections, audits, and compliance reviews
Employee Benefits & Insurance
- Manage employee medical insurance, group health insurance, group personal accident insurance, and related employee benefits programs.
- Coordinate policy renewals, employee enrolment, claims support, and insurer communications.
- Maintain benefit records and ensure timely administration of all employee welfare programs.
HR Compliance & Reporting
- Conduct periodic compliance reviews and HR audits.
- Generate HR MIS reports, payroll reports, headcount reports, and management dashboards.
- Ensure confidentiality and integrity of all employee and organizational data.
- Support management with HR analytics and compliance reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Commerce, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- MBA / PGDM in Human Resources will be an added advantage.
- Strong academic background with sound knowledge of HR operations and employment legislation
Experience
- Minimum 7-12 years of experience in HR Operations, Payroll Management, and Statutory Compliance.
- Proven experience handling complete payroll and compliance functions independently.
- Experience in managing HR administration for large size organizations.
- Maritime, Shipping, Marine, Logistics, Offshore, or related industry experience will be advantage.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Indian Labour Laws and Employment Regulations.
- Expert knowledge of PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, Gratuity, Bonus, and statutory compliance.
- Hands-on experience in payroll processing and payroll systems.
- Sound understanding of employee insurance and benefits administration.
- Solid HR operations and employee administration experience.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, HR reporting, and HRMS systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage the entire HR operations function for the Mumbai office
Note: This position is focused exclusively on HR Operations, Payroll & Compliance . Recruitment and Talent Acquisition responsibilities are not part of this role.
