: HR Generalist

Location: Chennai Employment Type: Full time

Indicative Compensation: ₹28,000-32,000 per month (based on 2–3 years of relevant experience)

About the Role

We are looking for an HR professional whose core focus is recruitment — sourcing, screening, and closing quality talent — along with onboarding new hires and running day-to-day HR operations. This role owns the full hiring cycle: posting roles, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and closing offers, alongside HR operations like attendance, payroll processing, compliance, employee records and employee engagement.

Roles & Responsibilities

Recruitment (Core Focus)

- Posting job openings on Indeed, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms as roles open up.
- Sourcing and screening candidates to shortlist quality talent for each role.
- Reaching out to and speaking with candidates to assess fit before scheduling interviews.
- Coordinating and setting up interviews with the CEO/relevant stakeholders, managing scheduling end-to-end.
- Following up with candidates through the hiring process and closing offers promptly.
- Maintaining a pipeline of potential candidates for recurring or hard-to-fill roles.

Core HR Functions

- Maintaining attendance records, managing Leave, WFH, and reimbursement requests.
- Finalising salaries every month through the RazorpayX portal.
- Handling grievances and dispute redressal.
- Supporting employee retention efforts.
- Managing exit processes, conducting exit interviews, and handling clearance formalities.
- Ensuring all employee records, contracts, and compliance documentation are accurately maintained.

Onboarding and Training

- Conducting onboarding and orientation sessions for new employees.




- Maintaining a cordial relationship with all employees and acting as a point of contact.

Employee Engagement

- Planning and executing employee engagement activities.
- Supporting initiatives that promote team well-being and collaboration.

Additional Responsibilities

- Assisting the CEO in vendor selection and purchase decisions, including managing engagements with freelancers, external agencies, website developers, photographers, videographers, and other service providers critical to project execution.
- Conducting ongoing research to identify employee wellbeing initiatives and collaborating with the Finance Head to optimise salary components and benefits that promote retention and attract talent.

What We're Looking For

- 2–3 years of experience in an HR generalist or HR operations role, ideally in a small/mid-size company or agency setup.
- Hands-on experience with payroll processing (RazorpayX or similar platforms) and statutory compliance documentation.
- Proven experience in end-to-end recruitment — posting on Indeed/LinkedIn, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and closing roles independently.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle grievances and sensitive conversations with discretion.
- Strong English communication skills - Oral and Written.
- Organized and detail-oriented, comfortable owning records, contracts, and documentation.
- Comfortable working directly with a CEO/founder in a small-team, high-context environment.

Good to Have

- Prior experience hiring for creative/content/marketing agency roles.
- Exposure to vendor/freelancer management for project-based engagements.
- Experience running employee engagement or wellbeing initiatives in a small team.

Pay: ₹28,000.00 - ₹32,000.00 per month
