Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Housekeeping Manager to oversee the hospital's housekeeping operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation, and infection control across the hospital premises while effectively managing housekeeping staff and daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the daily activities of the housekeeping department.
- Prepare duty rosters and ensure adequate deployment of housekeeping staff.
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of patient rooms, wards, ICUs, OT areas, corridors, common areas, and other hospital premises.
- Monitor housekeeping staff performance, discipline, grooming, and skilled behaviour.
- Ensure proper cleaning and disinfection procedures are followed as per hospital protocols.
- Coordinate with Infection Control, Nursing, Maintenance, and other departments regarding housekeeping requirements.
- Monitor the availability and proper use of cleaning materials, chemicals, equipment, and other housekeeping supplies.
- Conduct regular rounds and inspections to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained.
- Ensure proper segregation, collection, and disposal of waste as per hospital policies and applicable biomedical waste management guidelines.
- Handle housekeeping-related complaints and resolve issues promptly.
- Train and guide housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, infection control, safety practices, and hospital protocols.
- Maintain housekeeping records, checklists, inspection reports, and other required documentation.
- Monitor pest control, deep cleaning, and periodic cleaning activities.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, infection control practices, and NABH guidelines.
- Coordinate with housekeeping vendors and service providers, wherever applicable.
Qualifications
- Minimum Graduate preferred.
- Diploma/Certification in Housekeeping or Hospitality Management will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in housekeeping operations, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Prior experience in a supervisory or managerial housekeeping role is preferred.
