About this Role The Automation Support & Digital Tools Analyst plays a key role in supporting and maintaining automation solutions and digital tools that enable efficient operations within Core Transport. The role provides first-line support for automation workflows and contributes to the development, testing, deployment, and ongoing optimisation of automation initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with operational teams to support service stability, improve operational efficiency, and contribute to Vodafone's digital transformation objectives through automation and process improvement.

You are an experienced technology professional with 10-12 years of relevant experience supporting automation, digital tools, and network operations environments. You have a strong technical foundation, an analytical approach to problem-solving, and a collaborative mindset. You are comfortable troubleshooting technical issues, supporting operational teams, and working within dynamic environments where continuous improvement and learning are valued.
You are proactive, adaptable, and committed to delivering reliable and efficient automation solutions.
What You Will Do
- Act as the first point of contact for automation-related queries and technical issues, ensuring timely resolution or appropriate escalation.
- Support the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and stability of automation tools, scripts, and workflows.
- Assist in maintaining and updating automation scripts and processes.
- Collaborate with operational teams to gather requirements, document business processes, and identify opportunities for automation and optimisation.
- Participate in the testing, troubleshooting, deployment, and monitoring of automation solutions.
- Minimise operational disruption by supporting the resolution of automation-related incidents and service issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for automation assets, changes, incidents, and operational procedures.
- Contribute to the creation of user guides, training documentation, and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Support process reviews and recommend improvements that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Monitor automation performance and assist in delivering continuous improvements across supported solutions.
- Work within software engineering and DevOps-aligned environments where required.
- Support compliance requirements through effective documentation and change management practices.
- Work within UK operational hours (09:00-17:00 UK time).

What Skills You Need
Experience
- 8-12 years of overall professional experience.
- 8-12 years of experience supporting automation solutions, scripting, and technical operations environments.
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving technical issues within production environments.
- Experience supporting operational teams and documenting business and technical requirements.
- Exposure to software engineering, DevOps, testing, and process analysis environments is desirable.
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in Python scripting.
- Experience working with Python libraries, including pexpect.
- Knowledge of additional scripting or programming languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Java is desirable.
- Experience leveraging and integrating APIs.
- Knowledge of Database Management and SQL.
- Understanding of automation tools, workflows, and digital platforms.
- Networking knowledge across IP and Transmission technologies.
- Familiarity with network troubleshooting and operational support activities.
Certifications & Education
- Degree or equivalent qualification preferred, but not essential where relevant experience is demonstrated.
- Network+ and/or CCNA certification would be advantageous.
