Position - Lead / Senior Engineer Water

Work Location: Chennai

Experience: 11 to 21 Years

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering

Job Summary:

DAR Engineering is seeking an experienced Lead / Senior Engineer Water to lead engineering activities for Water Treatment projects. The role covers technology selection, process design, equipment sizing, detailed engineering, proposal support and technical leadership.

:

- Lead process and mechanical engineering for Desalination, WTP, STP, ETP, Pump Houses and Water Transmission projects from concept to detailed/IFC engineering.
- Perform process calculations, mass balances,



hydraulic calculations and equipment sizing for treatment and pumping systems.
- Evaluate and select appropriate water/wastewater treatment technologies considering feed-water characteristics, performance requirements, CAPEX/OPEX and project specifications.
- Size and select major process and mechanical equipment including pumps, RO/UF/MF systems, clarifiers, filters, blowers, chemical dosing and sludge handling systems.
- Prepare and review PFDs, P&IDs;, design basis, hydraulic profiles, equipment datasheets, specifications and engineering deliverables.
- Lead technical proposals and tender engineering, including technical compliance, engineering estimates, BOQs, equipment lists and technology evaluation.
- Review vendor offers, prepare technical bid evaluations, and coordinate with technology providers and equipment suppliers.
- Coordinate with Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, Piping and other disciplines to ensure integrated and constructible designs.
- Provide technical leadership, design review and mentoring to engineering teams while ensuring quality, schedule and applicable codes/standards.
- Interface with clients, consultants and vendors on technical matters and support project execution, construction and commissioning as required.

Skills Required:

- Strong hands-on experience in water and wastewater treatment engineering, particularly Desalination/RO, WTP, STP and ETP.
- Excellent knowledge of process design, hydraulic design, equipment sizing and selection.
- Good understanding of pumping systems, pump houses and water transmission pipelines.
- Experience in technology selection, tendering and technical proposal preparation.
- Familiarity with relevant international standards, client specifications and water industry practices.
- Strong multidisciplinary coordination, technical leadership and communication skills.
