The Head – Skilling & Learning Development will lead the University’s skilling and learning development initiatives for students, faculty and staff. The role will build an industry-aligned, outcome-driven skilling ecosystem through strategic programs, certifications, partnerships and technology-enabled learning.
The position will work closely with Senior Management, Deans, HODs, Faculty, Training & Placement and Industry Relations teams to identify skill requirements and translate them into measurable learning and employability outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the University-wide Skilling & Learning Development strategy and annual/semester-wise skilling calendar.
- Conduct skill-gap analysis and identify current and future competencies required across academic programs.
- Design and implement technical, employability, qualified and leadership development programs.
- Build partnerships with industry, technology companies, certification bodies, EdTech organizations and training providers.
- Develop industry-recognized certification pathways and monitor participation, completion and certification outcomes.
- Lead faculty upskilling and reskilling initiatives aligned with emerging technologies, pedagogy and industry practices.
- Identify and develop programs in emerging areas such as AI/GenAI, Data Science, Cloud, Cybersecurity,
Business Analytics and other future skills.
- Manage trainers, subject-matter experts, vendors, LMS/digital learning platforms and program delivery.
- Establish dashboards and KPIs to measure participation, completion, certification, skill development, employability and placement impact.
- Prepare periodic reports for Senior Management and continuously improve programs based on data, feedback and industry trends.
Candidate Profile
- Academic & Experience: Engineering/Technology background with 12–18 years of relevant experience in L&D;, Skilling, Capability Development, Technical Training, Higher Education or EdTech.
- Leadership: Proven experience in leading large-scale learning/skilling initiatives and preferably building a skilling function or ecosystem from the ground up.
- Industry Exposure: Experience with engineering institutions/universities, technology companies, EdTech, corporate L&D;, certification organizations or large technical training organizations will be preferred.
Qualifications:
- Education: B.E./B.Tech in a relevant Engineering/Technology discipline with M.E./M.Tech, or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
- Preferred: Certifications in Learning & Development, Talent Development, Instructional Design, Digital Learning, Skilling, or related areas will be an advantage.
