Role Description The Head of Technology & AI – India is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Chennai, working directly with the Founder and taking ownership of ATMAN's day-to-day technology and AI execution in India.

The role will translate the Founder's product vision into clear technical roadmaps and ensure execution across ATMAN's multiple technology initiatives.

The individual will lead and coordinate AI, engineering and product-development teams , including external technology partners, ensuring that every product has clear ownership, architecture, milestones, timelines and measurable output.

This is not a traditional IT infrastructure role. We are looking for a technology builder and execution leader who understands AI deeply enough to challenge technical decisions while also having the leadership capability to bring multiple teams together and deliver products.

Key Responsibilities

- Own end-to-end technology and AI execution for ATMAN India.
- Translate the Founder's vision and product concepts into executable technical roadmaps.
- Lead and coordinate AI, engineering and product-development teams.
- Establish technical architecture, engineering standards and development practices.
- Evaluate and implement AI/ML, LLM, agentic AI,



GenAI and emerging technology solutions where relevant.
- Oversee the complete product lifecycle from concept → architecture → development → testing → deployment → continuous improvement .
- Establish sprint planning, milestones, ownership and delivery accountability across every technology initiative.
- Review technical architecture, code quality, scalability, security and performance.
- Manage and critically evaluate external technology partners, vendors and development teams.
- Identify technical bottlenecks early and drive them to resolution.
- Build dashboards and reporting mechanisms providing leadership explicit visibility into product and technology progress.
- Establish appropriate AI governance, data security, access controls, documentation and IP protection practices.
- Recruit and develop the India technology team as ATMAN scales.
- Work closely with the Founder on future technology strategy, product innovation and global expansion.

Qualifications
- 8–12+ years of experience across technology, software engineering, AI/ML, product engineering or related areas, with meaningful leadership experience.
- Robust understanding of modern AI technologies , including LLMs, GenAI, AI agents, RAG, APIs, model integration and AI-enabled product architecture.




- Strong software engineering and system architecture fundamentals.
- Experience building and scaling technology products from concept through production.
- Ability to evaluate technical architecture and challenge engineering estimates and decisions rather than functioning only as a project manager.
- Experience leading multiple engineering teams, product teams and/or external development partners simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, APIs, databases, cybersecurity, data infrastructure and scalable systems.
- Ability to convert business/product requirements into structured technical execution plans.
- Strong understanding of agile development, sprint management, CI/CD and modern engineering practices.
- Experience hiring and building high-performing technology teams.
- Strong problem-solving, ownership and execution mindset.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technology matters for leadership.
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, Data Science or a related field preferred.
