About the Role

We are looking for a driven and dependable HR professional to join us as Head of HR & People Operations. You will build and run Delco's core HR function from the ground up — payroll, attendance, policy and compliance — while also being the person our teams across every store genuinely trust. This role is ideal for someone who wants real ownership of a people function at a growing, multi-location retail business.

Key Responsibilities

1. Run payroll accurately and on time, every month, across all stores and the central team
2. Track attendance across the store network — late marks, absences, fines and corrective action, applied fairly and consistently
3. Manage bonus and commission structures, ensuring accurate and timely payouts
4. Build and enforce HR policies that are clear, fair and fully compliant with applicable labour law
5. Act as the trusted point of contact for employees across all levels — from salesmen to senior management
6. Handle onboarding and offboarding processes professionally and consistently
7.



Maintain accurate employee records and documentation across the company
8. Support store managers on people issues — conflicts, performance concerns and disciplinary matters
9. Ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable labour laws and statutory requirements

Requirements

1. 2-4 years of experience in an HR generalist role
2. Strong working knowledge of applicable labour laws and statutory compliance
3. Confident communicator, comfortable having direct conversations with employees at any level
4. High personal integrity — this role involves handling sensitive employee and salary information
5. Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail
6. Comfortable traveling to stores to stay close to ground realities
7. Willing to work from Delhi-NCR

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

- Experience building HR policy or processes
- Familiarity with payroll
- Experience handling employee relations or workplace dispute resolution
