An entry route for people from a tradition we cannot hire out of a technology college. If you have studied the Vedas, agriculture or animal husbandry and you are curious about what data can do for the animals in your care, we will teach you the technology.
Responsibilities
- Fit, commission and service Cow Necklace sensors on goshala herds under supervision
- Record daily observations alongside the sensor data - what the animal did, what the caretaker saw, what the vet said
- Help build the baseline records that let the models learn a shelter herd rather than a dairy herd
- Explain readings and alerts to goshala staff in their own language
- Sit in on meetings with temple management, and learn how those conversations are held
Requirements
- A degree or ongoing study in Vedic studies, Sanskrit, agriculture,
animal husbandry or veterinary science - or demonstrable practical experience in a goshala
- Curiosity about data science. No prior technical experience required; an interest and a willingness to learn is the bar
- Comfortable around cattle, and trained or willing to be trained in secure and respectful handling
- Local language plus enough English to follow training material
- Willing to spend working days inside a goshala rather than an office
