Job Summary
A goshala is not a dairy. It is a place of seva, run by trustees and acharyas for whom the cow is sacred and its care a religious duty. This role sits between that world and ours - able to sit with temple management in their own idiom, and to explain honestly what a sensor does and does not do.
Responsibilities
- Build relationships with the management of Sri Venkateswara Gosamrakshana Shala (TTD), Shri Krishna Janmasthan Goshala at Mathura, and the ISKCON Cow Protection and Goshala network
- Present Cow Necklace monitoring in terms a trustee, an acharya or a goshala superintendent recognises: gau seva made more effective, illness caught earlier, comfort better protected
- Work with goshala staff and visiting veterinarians on what the alerts mean and what to do about them
- Respect and work within each institutions protocols on handling, feeding, treatment and the sanctity of the animal - never proposing anything that conflicts with them
- Run pilot deployments in shelter conditions, where herds are large, ages are mixed, and many animals are rescued, elderly or infirm rather than productive
- Carry back to our engineering team what a shelter needs that a commercial dairy does not - the models are different because the purpose is different
- Support methane and welfare reporting where an institution wants it for its own environmental commitments
Requirements
- Grounding in Vedic tradition and temple practice - able to hold a conversation about go-samrakshana, gau seva and the place of the cow in dharma without translating it into someone elses terms
- Working knowledge of data science and IoT. Minimum knowledge is acceptable; we will teach the rest. What cannot be taught quickly is the first requirement
- Fluent in English plus Telugu, Hindi or Sanskrit; more is better
- Comfortable with trustees, acharyas, temple administrators and government-linked boards, and with the pace at which such institutions decide
- Willing to travel to goshalas across India and to spend time in them
- Loves to see farmers succeed, understands their pain points, and can explain a recommendation in words a farmer uses
- Absolute respect for the animal and for the institutions authority over its care
