About the Role

We are building a technology platform that helps brands expand and operate across markets — bringing together market entry, regulatory, operations, commerce, growth, and intelligence workflows into one system.

We are looking for a Founding Engineer to work closely with the founder and team to build and evolve the technology behind this platform.

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who enjoys taking complex, real-world problems and turning them into simple, scalable products. You will work across product, engineering, AI, data and integrations — from shaping how a solution should work to building and shipping it into production.

You will have meaningful ownership over what we build, how we build it and the technical foundations that support the platform as it grows.

What You Will Do

Build the Platform

- Design and build core platform capabilities across users, organisations, products, markets, workflows, permissions and shared data.
- Develop customer-facing and internal products across market entry, operations and growth.
- Build backend services, APIs, dashboards, workflow systems and integrations.
- Make pragmatic technical decisions that balance speed, scalability and maintainability.
- Own features and systems from early prototype through production deployment and iteration.

Build AI, Data & Automation

- Integrate AI and LLM capabilities into practical business workflows.
- Build systems for document processing, research, recommendations, workflow automation, and decision support.
- Design human-in-the-loop workflows where automation and operational teams work together.
- Connect external systems including marketplaces, logistics providers, regulatory systems, ERP/CRM tools and other APIs.
- Help structure fragmented operational and commercial data into reusable platform intelligence.

Shape Product & Engineering

- Work closely with the founder and business teams to understand problems and translate them into product solutions.




- Prototype quickly, test with real users, and iterate based on feedback and usage.
- Help define product architecture, technical priorities, and engineering roadmap.
- Challenge unnecessary complexity and identify the simplest useful solution.
- Establish strong engineering practices across testing, deployment, monitoring, documentation and code quality.
- Help shape engineering standards and ways of working as the team grows.

What We Are Looking For

- Strong software engineering experience, ideally gained in an early-stage startup or product environment.
- Strong full-stack engineering capability and experience building production software end-to-end.
- Comfortable working across frontend, backend, databases, APIs and cloud infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of modern application architecture and relational data modelling.
- Experience working with third-party APIs, webhooks and external systems.
- Practical experience building with LLM APIs, AI workflows or automation systems.
- Ability to take loosely defined business problems and turn them into working products.
- Solid product judgement and curiosity about the business context behind what you build.
- High ownership, bias for action, and comfort working in an evolving setting.

- Building operational dashboards across commerce, fulfilment and distribution.
- Creating AI-assisted research, document and decision-support workflows.
- Connecting external marketplaces, logistics, regulatory and business systems.
- Building reusable platform components that future products can be launched on top of.

The exact roadmap will evolve. What matters is the ability to move from a real business problem to a working product quickly.

Technology

We care more about engineering capability and judgement than an exact technology match.

Our stack is likely to include technologies such as:

- TypeScript, React and Next.js
- Python

- APIs and webhooks
- Cloud and managed infrastructure
- LLM APIs and AI orchestration tools
- Modern CI/CD, testing and observability

You should be comfortable learning new technologies and choosing the right tool for the problem.
