Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Fiber Splicer role based in Shahdol.

The Fiber

Splicer will be responsible for splicing, testing, and maintaining optical fiber cables for telecom networks, ensuring low-loss connections and high-quality signal transmission. Day-to-day activities include reading and interpreting network diagrams, preparing fiber cables, performing fusion and mechanical splicing, and using OTDR and other test equipment to troubleshoot and verify fiber integrity. The role involves performing field installations, repairs, and upgrades,



documenting work performed, and coordinating with network engineers, supervisors, and other field technicians to complete projects safely and on schedule.

The Fiber

Splicer will follow all safety standards, maintain tools and equipment, and support continuous improvement of installation and maintenance practices.

Qualifications

- Hands-on experience with fiber splicing (fusion and mechanical), cable preparation, and fiber termination.
- Proficiency using fiber testing and measurement tools such as OTDR, power meters, and light sources.
- Ability to read and interpret network layouts, fiber schematics, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of fiber optic installation standards, safety procedures, and basic telecom network concepts.
- Strong attention to detail, troubleshooting skills, and ability to work accurately in field conditions.
- Capability to work on-site in Shahdol, including field-based tasks, climbing, and handling equipment as required.
- Good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with engineers, project managers, and external partners.
- Relevant technical diploma or certification in telecommunications, electronics, or fiber optics; prior fiber splicing experience is highly preferred.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, based on project and maintenance needs.
