Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Fabrication Engineer with 5 years of experience in the sheet metal industry. The candidate should have solid practical knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, production drawings, welding, bending, cutting, and shop-floor activities. AutoCAD knowledge is required.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and supervise daily sheet metal fabrication and production activities.
- Read and understand AutoCAD drawings and engineering drawings.
- Ensure fabrication work is carried out according to drawings and specifications.
- Handle sheet metal processes including:

- Laser cutting

- CNC punching

- Shearing

- Press brake bending

- Welding

- Grinding

- Drilling

- Assembly
- Check dimensions, bend angles, hole positions, fit-up, and material thickness.
- Coordinate with fitters, welders, machine operators, and production workers.
- Monitor production quality and minimize rework and rejection.
- Identify and resolve fabrication-related problems on the shop floor.
- Coordinate with Design, Production, Quality, and Maintenance departments.




- Ensure proper utilization of material, manpower, and machines.
- Maintain production schedules and ensure timely completion of jobs.
- Follow company quality and safety procedures.

Required Skills

- 5 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication/manufacturing.
- Good knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Ability to read and understand 2D engineering/fabrication drawings.
- Knowledge of MS and SS sheet metal fabrication.
- Knowledge of welding, bending, cutting, drilling, and grinding.
- Understanding of sheet thickness, bend radius, tolerances, and measurements.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments such as vernier caliper, micrometer, measuring tape, and angle gauge.
- Good shop-floor coordination and manpower-handling skills.

Qualification

- ITI Fitter, with relevant sheet metal experience, OR
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
