Role Description This is a full-time Equity / Commodity Trader role based in Mumbai, structured as a hybrid position with a mix of in office and work-from-home days. The trader will manage and execute trades across equity and commodity markets, monitor positions, and optimize strategies within defined risk parameters. Daily responsibilities include market research and analysis, tracking global macroeconomic and sector trends, and identifying trading opportunities aligned with the firm’s investment views.

The role involves collaborating with investment and risk teams, preparing concise trade rationales, and maintaining accurate trade records and reporting. The trader will also contribute to idea generation, performance review discussions, and continuous improvement of trading systems and processes.

Qualifications





- Strong skills in equity and commodity market analysis, including interpreting price action, technical indicators, and macroeconomic data.
- Proficiency in trade execution and order management across multiple exchanges and instruments, with attention to liquidity and transaction costs.
- Capability in risk management, including position sizing, portfolio exposure monitoring, and adherence to risk limits and compliance requirements.
- Experience using trading platforms, market data terminals, and analytical tools; comfort with spreadsheets and basic quantitative analysis.
- Excellent numerical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to make time-sensitive decisions under pressure.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with investment, operations, and compliance teams.
- Prior experience in proprietary trading, buy-side or sell-side trading, or portfolio management is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline; relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM, NISM) are an advantage.
- Demonstrated integrity, professional ethics, and a disciplined approach to trading with a long-term mindset.
- Willingness to work flexible hours when required to cover global markets and adapt to evolving trading strategies.
