Role Overview

We are looking for an entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) to identify, build, evaluate, and scale new businesses from the ground up. The role sits at the intersection of startup ecosystem, venture building, strategic investments, fundraising, and innovation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong entrepreneurial mindset, deep relationships across the startup and investment ecosystem, and the ability to move seamlessly from idea incubation validation funding scale.

Key Responsibilities

1. Venture Building & Incubation

- Identify and evaluate emerging business opportunities, disruptive categories, and innovative startup models.
- Build new ventures from concept to MVP, market validation, and scale.
- Work closely with founders and internal teams on business models, GTM strategy, product-market fit, and growth.
- Develop incubation frameworks, venture pipelines, and evaluation methodologies.
- Identify opportunities for creating current businesses and scalable ventures.

2. Startup Ecosystem & Founder Network

- Build and maintain strong relationships with founders, VCs, angel investors, accelerators, incubators, family offices, and ecosystem leaders.
- Develop a strong pipeline of promising startups, technologies, and business opportunities.
- Represent the organisation at startup, venture, innovation, and industry forums.
- Identify potential strategic partnerships, investments, acquisitions, and JV opportunities.

3. Fundraising & Venture Capital

- Support new and portfolio ventures with fundraising strategy, investor mapping, pitch preparation, and investor engagement.
- Develop relationships with domestic and international VC/PE funds, strategic investors, and family offices.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of term sheets, cap tables, valuations, ESOPs, dilution, and funding structures.
- Participate in investment evaluation, due diligence, negotiations, and deal discussions.




- Support founders in developing compelling investor narratives and fundraising strategies.

4. Strategy & Investments

- Evaluate startups based on market opportunity, business model, unit economics, technology, team, competitive landscape, and scalability.
- Prepare investment and venture evaluation notes, business cases, and recommendations for senior leadership.
- Track emerging sectors, technologies, consumer trends, and business models globally.
- Support strategic investments, partnerships, joint ventures, and M&A; opportunities.
- Conduct market and competitive analysis to identify high-potential opportunities.

5. Portfolio & Venture Growth

- Act as a strategic partner and advisor to founders and portfolio companies.
- Help ventures with GTM, enterprise partnerships, hiring, fundraising, business development, and scaling.
- Establish key metrics, milestones, and governance mechanisms to track venture performance.
- Identify growth opportunities and help portfolio companies overcome critical business challenges.

Ideal Candidate Profile

- 10–15+ years of overall experience with meaningful exposure to startups, venture capital, entrepreneurship, consulting, corporate venture building, investments, or strategy.
- Proven experience in building, incubating, scaling, or evaluating businesses.
- Strong understanding of the Indian and global startup ecosystem.
- Demonstrated ability to build and leverage a high-quality network across founders, VCs, investors, accelerators, and institutions.
- Experience/exposure to fundraising, venture investments,



M&A;, strategic partnerships, or portfolio management.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to understand business models, P&L;, unit economics, valuation, and investment structures.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong entrepreneurial mindset with a 01 orientation.
- Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-paced, and high-ownership environments.

Education & Pedigree

- MBA / PGDM from a top-tier institution such as IIM, ISB, or equivalent preferred.
- Undergraduate degree from IIT, leading Indian institution, or reputed global university preferred.
- International education or work experience will be an advantage.
- Exceptional entrepreneurial or investment track record may be considered in lieu of conventional academic pedigree.

- Building meaningful relationships across the startup, VC, PE, and investment ecosystem.
- Enabling fundraising and strategic access to capital.
- Identifying high-potential investment, partnership, JV, and acquisition opportunities.
- Helping portfolio ventures achieve measurable growth and scale.
- Becoming a trusted interface between the organisation and the broader startup ecosystem.
